Pro Tools 7100 Error
a G5 dual 2.5GHz computer and bought an additional HD Accel card (I now had an HD 3). I have one 192 IO and that's it. Since I got the new Accel card I decided to do a CD at 96/24. I am having a very hard time. The system acts flawlessly at 48KHz or 44.1KHz but at 96KHz I am having problems. Here's what happens... Sometimes, usually after working for 5 to 10 minutes, if I add a new aux track, audio track, or bus send the computer hangs for a little while with the spinning wheel. After maybe 15 or 20 seconds one of three things happens. 1. I get a DAE error -4 2. I get a DAE error -7100 3. I get a "Not enough DSP to allocate voices" and every track in the session is changed to "dyn - inactive due ot not enough resources" even though I have at least several chips open on a couple of cards. It seems kind of random as to which one happens. I haven't found any patterns yet. Has anyone seen this? I've followed the troubleshooting guide in the sticky at the top of this forum and it still happens after deleting all the prefs and repairing the drives, etc... As a test, I saved one of the songs back down to 48KHz and I haven't had any problems with it. Strange huh? Anyone have any ideas? Digi, have you seen this before? Can you list the plugs and their versions? -tv Thanks for the quick response...Here's my plugin list below. I also found out that the Chief engineer in our other studio is also having similar problems. He has the exact same system as me minus the soundtoys plugins. He also has two 192s with A/D and D/A expansion card, a SYNC IO and a Prism ADA-8. His problems sound worse than mine although he does have the same things happening with the -4, -7100 and DSP errors. But his goes one step further, he'll just get a spinning wheel when trying to open sessions or when adding or deleting tracks, auxes, or busses and he has to force quit out of it. Anyway... I just tried everything and still it doesn't go when I try to Bounce to disk. Just before that I had several 9073 errors and believe me, I did everything recommended by Digi and my local dealer (reformat, reinstall 10.4.6 with PT 7.2, all legit software, added 2more GB of RAM on Apple G5 1.6, reset cards in Mac, changed every cables, trashed all prefs, repaired permissions etc...) Anything would help at this point. Thanks. Krubbadoo@hotmail.com Share Quote 6th October 2007 #2 amost Lives for gear 10.4.8 helped me alot with 7.+ ...athough I'm on a Mac Pro. So before you call the technical support line, take a look at Sound On Sound 's guide to diagnosing and fixing the pro tools most common faults. For the first of our Pro Tools workshops, we're going to look at some of the most common problems that can occur when you're using the program — usually when you're in a crucial session, or up against an immovable deadline! As you've probably found, Pro Tools has a habit of generating some rather cryptic error messages when things pro tools 7100 go wrong, so firstly, let's see if we can demistify some of these. * DAE error 9035 This can come up for one of two reasons. One is that the drive that you use for audio (and you aren't using the drive that has your operating system and applications, are you?) is getting close to full. The best way to resolve this is to use a different drive with more space on it. Failing that, clear some space on your audio drive by backing up some old Sessions and then deleting them. To stop this error message returning you may also need to defragment your drive, so that the empty space on your drive is all in the same place rather than scattered across the drive in little pieces. However, if it's an emergency and you don't have time to clean up your drive properly, you can get some short-term relief from this error by reducing the Open Ended Record Allocation to a smaller value. This is done by going into Preferences in the Setup menu; in the Operations tab, set the recording allo
