But when i open up a session and try to make it play i get a message https://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/790334-problem-detected-audio-clock.html saying "Problem detected with audio clock. Check that your clock source and sample rate are correct. Now i've checked in the session information and then gone to hardware and made sure the sample rates are the same (44.1) but i still cannot get anything to play. Is there a different way i'm meant to sync up the audio clock for the Focusrite? This was never an issue with the Mbox but i'm guessing becuase that is M-Audio it happily communicates better with Pro Tools. Anyway, thank you for your time and any insight into fixing this problem i'm having would be great. Mallah Share Quote 3rd December 2012 #2 Alndln Lives for gear My Studio I'll take a guess worth checking. It sounds like PT defaulted to your onboard sound when you changed hardware. Make sure your Focusrite hardware is chosen in PT's hardware properties. Share Quote 4th December 2012 #3 rboy Gear Maniac Have you set up the Scarlett yet? Grab the CD in the box and install Mix Control. Pretty sure that if it's a new unit you also have update it from the Focusrite site. This is definitely the case with if you're on a Mac. Takes just a minute and then you should be good to go. After you install it there's no extra setting up of it you need to do in order to just open sessions and work, IIRC

Uploaded on Dec 27, 2011Pro Tools: How To Assign A Clock Source | WinkSoundWord clocks are an important part of any digital audio workstation setup. They keep all the different parts of a working studio in sync with each other so there's no lag or jitter which can show up as unwanted clicks and pops when recording or mixing audio. In pro tools audio this video recording engineer Keith Kaufman explains what word clocks are, where they're found and how to assign a clock source within Pro Tools. This is useful to know if your working with a hybrid system where you have digital outboard gear such as an MPC, keyboard workstation or external rack effects in use.Keith Kaufman is an Assistant Engineer at Tainted Blue Studios in NYC (http://www.taintedblue.com/), Content Producer for WinkSound (http://www.winksound.com/) as well as Repertory Representative at ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) (http://www.ascap.com/).Connect with Keith on Facebook: http://bit.ly/KeithKaufmanhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kysg1... few edits away from wrapping up. Unfortunately the hard drive on my desktop crashed a few weeks ago, and I've been working on getting my new laptop set up with Pro Tools. The problem I've run into is the software I was using originally (Pro Tools LE 7.4) isn't compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. The software came with the Mbox2 Mini I bought. I did a little research and found that I'd need to upgrade to at least version 8.0.3 to be able to record with Pro Tools on my laptop with my Mbox2 Mini. I went out and bought a copy, came home and installed it. It took 4 tries and 2 and a half hours of my patience, but I finally got it installed. My problems didn't stop there. Although I can hear myself in my headphones, I'm not able to see any levels when I've armed a track to record. So I tried opening some previous sessions, but when I go to playback, I get an error message saying there's a problemĀ detected with my audio clock and that I should check that my source and sample rate are correct. My audio clock is set on "internal;" there's no other option for me to choose, so I'm not sure what the problem is there. If anyone can shine some light on this, I'd appreciate it. In the meantime, I've contacted Avid, and I'm still awaiting a response. If I'm able to fix it I will share my findings here. In the meantime, I'm working on finishing up lyrics. They're coming along slowly but surely. Update 7/31/10 - I upgraded to version 8.0.4. Pro Tools offers this as a free upgrade to anyone who has LE 8 or higher. I was able to finally record and playback tracks without the audio clock problem. However, I was getting a distorted sound when I recorded and when I would play tracks back. Luckily this was an easy fix: I just lowered my H/W buffer size.
