In one case trashing Digidesign Databases and Volumes solved the problem. Throw away (trash) the following items: Digidesign Database folders. These are found on the first (root) level of every mounted volume. Note: This would include the MacHD, firewire drives, iPods, etc. Volumes folder. Location: (Mac) MacHD>Library>Application Support>Digidesign>Databases (PC) C:\Program Files\Digidesign\Pro Tools\Databases Once you have thrown away those files, restart the computer and then launch Pro Tools. If that doesn't work check permissions on the new HD. http://www.myspace.com/philogg Phil Ogden View Public Profile Send a private message to Phil Ogden Find all posts by Phil Ogden « Previous Thread | Next Thread » Thread Tools Show Printable Version Display Modes Linear Mode Switch to Hybrid Mode Switch to Threaded Mode Search this Thread Advanced Search Posting Rules You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts BB code is On Smilies are On [IMG] code is On HTML code is Off Fo

When I work in ProTools (now in version 10, but the same thing also happened in version 9), after saving my project several times I get an Access Violation error when trying to save (or sometimes Protools just hangs and can be closed only through Task Manager). If autobackup is enabled this error appears when program tries to backup. My sessions are audio only (no virtual instruments, about 32 mono tracks and http://uadforum.com/support-troubleshooting/11007-protools-10-uad2-quad-access-violation-when-saving.html several busses) and I use only UAD plugins (SSL 4k, 1176, Neve 33609, EMT 250, Cooper Delay, Dimension D). If I work with a session with no plugins, I get no errors and can save endlessly without fear. Also I don't remember the problem to appear when UAD plugins used a VST Wrapper (before version 6). This is really annoying. Please help! I don't have the exact same error, but typically I do have a random problem of Pro Tools crashing during a "save" and throwing up a bunch of different errors as to "why". Interestingly it seems worse when I run the old UAD Pultec Pro plugin alot, but it also happen in projects without any Pultecs so it's not just that particular plugin. I also had the same issues with PT9 but it seemed even worse then. Oddly I've had perhaps up to 5 straight hours of mix down work crash free, then o
