AAE -6031 AAE -9128 Last Updated : June 3, 2013 Products Affected : Pro_Tools_HD, Pro_Tools_LE, Pro_Tools_M_Powered DAE error -6031 or -9128. "You're running out of CPU power. Take out some plug-ins to free up CPU power." This article describes how to manage the Playback Engine and other settings for optimum host-based playback and RTAS plug-in performance. RTAS plug-ins use your computer’s CPU to process audio. Settings in the Playback Engine can dramatically affect how well Pro Tools utilizes your host computer’s processing power. How plug-ins are programmed can also affect which settings are most effective. DAE error (-9128): “You are running out of CPU power. Remove some RTAS plug-ins or increase the CPU Usage Limit in the Playback Engine dialog. (-9128)” Playback Engine Settings: Reduce the number of Host Processors. Set this to one less than the maximum number – this usually results in best performance. If errors persist, try lowering this setting further. With Virtual Instruments and plug-ins that are processor intensive (pitch correction, amplifier modeling, multiband compression), this setting can be critical. Raise the H/W buffer size. This will improve

Pro Tools Ran Out Of Cpu Power Aae-9173
Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: California, near LA Posts: 385 Still out of CPU error 12C mac 1% CPU usage HI. I still have the dreaded out of cpu error and no http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Error_Message/en299475 one has been able to fix it, save I constantly restart the computer and pray- it has been working just barely enough because of the 12core overhead, however when a project reaches as low as 9% CPU it throws this error. But I've seen it do this at 1%. To be clear I've never even seen my CPU hit 30s but I still get this awful error. The http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=367812 only reason I'm surviving is because I keep on persisting and eventually force it to play after hitting the spacebar many times or restarting but this is seriously outrageous. So what is going on? I have buffers at max or at 512. I've tried vienna ensemble but I'm having issues with that giving delays on the release of notes. I'm using all plugins that AVID claims is compatible (Vienna, Kontakt, and Play). This happens when using play instruments mixed with kontakt, or play by itself. I've updated everything to the latest and am using 10.10.2 OS. The weird thing is that if I bounce offline I get clicks and pops but it won't give that error. If I bounce online it gives me the error. It seems to be triggered by volume graphing or other automation data such as a tempo change. I also get random issues with a memory leak in PT where it suddenly keeps asking "are you sure ... out of memory" when clearly I have like two patches loaded. CPU: 12C intel 24Threads Mac Pro 32GB ram and 1TB all SSDs for all libraries (2 512 and 1 tb SSDs) on thunderbolt II external pro storag

this Article Home » Categories » Computers and Electronics » Software » Media Software ArticleEditDiscuss Edit ArticleHow to Allocate More Memory to Pro Tools Community Q&A Pro Tools is digital audio software made by Avid Technology that can be used on either the Macintosh or Microsoft Windows operating systems. Professionals in the audio industry use Pro Tools for editing and recording in films, television and music venues. Depending on the Pro Tools functions you use, the number of plug-ins you have, and the number of processors in your computer, you may experience lag time or run low on memory. Here are some steps to use to allocate more memory for Pro Tools tasks. Steps 1 Shut down all other applications. To ensure Pro Tools is running at maximum capacity, close down all other open applications on your computer. This frees up RAM and any other available resources that can be allocated to Pro Tools. 2 Customize your settings in the Playback Engine window. In the Playback Engine window, you can customize settings such as your CPU usage limit, the RTAS (Real Time AudioSuite) processors, the hardware buffer size, and the DAE (Digidesign Audio Engine) Playback buffer size to free up memory. 3 Open the Playback Engine window. From Pro Tools, click on "Setup" and select Playback Engine. Change the CPU usage limit. In the Playback Engine window, click on the drop-down menu next to CPU Usage Limit in the HD TDM Settings section to modify the amount of memory you are allocating to Pro Tools. Pro Tools will allow you to set allocation at a maximum of 85 percent if your computer only has one processor. Modify the number of RTAS processors. In the Playback Engine window, click on the drop-down menu next to RTAS Processors in the HD TDM Settings section to modify the amount of processors you want to use for Pro Tools allocation. The RTAS Processors setting allows you to allocate more memory for Pro Tools by utilizing your computer's multiple processors, if applicable. This setting works with the CPU Usage Limit setting in that you can set allocation at 99 percent with multiple processors. Change the hardware
