I have just loaded Pro Tools 10 from discs onto a new Laptop with Windows 8 (64 bit). When I come to firing up http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Error_Message/en406391 Pro Tools I am getting a DAE error 13001. I used CMD net user administrator /active:yes to "log on" as admin for the install. I downloaded the latest drivers for my M-Audio Fastrack Ultra 8R prior to install. Anyone any ideas please. Desperate to get up and running! Desperate to get up and running! Cheers, T Hey Try these KB pages and these links. Has to do with memory allocation as far as I understand it. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...ssage/en406391 http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...%2013001&site= http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=338392 Hopefully that will help you somewhat. Also try to disable "disk cache" under settings and see if the problem persists. Giving me the good 'ole DAE Error -13001. So, do any of you guys know how to get around this, or if Avid is feverishly making an update for those who have upgraded to W8? #1 LuketheDuke, Oct 30, 2012 egan. daylightdies.com Joined: Dec 28, 2002 Messages: 5,438 Likes Received: 5 Trophy Points: 38 Location: NorCal If history is any indicator, you can expect an avid update in six months to a year. In general it's a bad idea to early adopt new OS's if you are serious about your DAW. It will break things every time. #2 egan., Oct 30, 2012 Josh Burgess Member Joined: Feb 18, 2008 Messages: 2,306 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 36 Location: Tampa, FL I don't use Pro Tools, but I can say that Reaper has no problems with Windows 8 whatsoever. Actually, no programs I had installed on Windows 7 have any problems in Windows 8... no updates or patches required. I had heard this was the case going into the update, and it's held true for me. not sure what the issue is with ProTools... #3 Josh Burgess, Oct 30, 2012 egan. daylightdies.com Joined: Dec 28, 2002 Messages: 5,438 Likes Received: 5 Trophy Points: 38 Location: NorCal Make
