I've been successfully using PT9 pro tools drive permissions for the past 7 months and all of a sudden I can't create a new session and record with it. I get the same error message "Could not allocate space for Recording!" This is on a 2 TB drive with 890 GIG free! it makes no sense. I just wanted to record 2 tracks and I enabled the tracks to record, pressed play to listen to the click for a minute & the message popped up. I checked the disk allocation and it all looks good. the session drive is set to RR and the other drives TT. this happened on the second of a 3 song session today. I couldn't resolve it right then, so the client left. needless to say I am not a happy camper. And YES I did a search for this but the responses are not conclusive and from years ago. Any help will be sincerely appreciated. thanks... climber View Public Profile Find all posts by climber #2 07-20-2011, 06:14 PM climber Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: North Conway, NH Posts: 104 Re: PT 9 error: Could not allocate space for Recording! nobody has had to deal with this issue? that's surprising... how about Tech Support? __________________ __________________ Al Hospers bass, vocal, composer, engineer CleverSounds Recording ------------------------------------------------------ New MacPro, 6 core, 32 GB RAM, Orion Studio , PT12.4, Slate MTi, ISA428, ADL600, Distressor, Grace 501, Dimedio, Obsidian, One LA, BAC500, Harrison 32 EQ, UAD2 OCTO, Focal 6 be, Auratones... climber View Public Profile Find all posts by climber #3 07-20-2011, 06:17 PM Craig F Moderator Join Date: Aug 2000 Location: someplace I shouldn't be Posts: 12,592 Re: PT 9 error: Could not allocate space for Recording! Audio needs to be recorded on a separate hard drive Why is it important? Every time you create a new audio track in Pro Tools, the track needs a hard drive to record to. Therefore, you have to be cognizant of which hard drive your track is actually being recorded to. WARNING: DON'T ASSUME THAT THE TRACK IS BEING RECORDED TO THE SAME HARD DRIVE AS YOUR SESSION! Here is what to do: Go to the Setup menu Select Disk Allocation (There is no quick-key)
