Is that normal?? Seems REALLY low. I figured I would be able to use 20 or so TDM plugs with an HD1. This happens with the stock Digi plugs, so I don't think it is a compatibility issue. Can't even use RTAS because they take up too many voices on AUX sends, eating up track count making my already limited 48 more like 28. Please tell me there is a reason for this and not that an HD1 system can only run 4 TDM plugs @ 88.2... __________________ PTHD 8.1.1, ASUS P7P55D, Intel i7, 4GB Ram, 2x Nvidia GeForce 9500, OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.7 kevinb511 View Public Profile Send a private message to kevinb511 Find all posts by kevinb511 #2 06-01-2011, 08:45 AM KMcK Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Los Angeles Posts: 700 Re: not enough free DSP (error#7204) Sounds about right for an HD1 at 88.2 depending on what kind of plugins you're using. HD1 is not really useable for much to begin with, and running at the higher sample rate just eats up your resources faster. Is there any work around to use RTAS on an AUX without it eating up 3 voices? A typical session for me will be around 30-40 tracks/voices, and 12 or so AUXs with a few verbs, delays etc. for FX returns. If each AUX ends up being 3 voices, then I am way over my 48 voice limit. Never ran into or even thought

The problem occurs in every project that i'm working on, at the moment that i'm adding a UAD plugin (doesn't matter which one) there's problem during the http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=302025 playback of the project. I get the same error when the dsp of the system is full and i need to increase the buffer size or to disable plugins (by the way-it doesn't help), and the playback stops. this is absurd because the whole sense of the UAD for me now is to solve those dsp problems. just to Clarify - the error occurs even when the whole project has one insert and it's the UAD, the moment i disable it-the problem's gone. i http://uadforum.com/support-troubleshooting/11433-dsp-error-pro-tools-10-a.html can work on project full of dozens of other plugins with buffer size of 256 and it work's just fine. can someone help me? i'm new to to UAD family and i don't want to start on left foot... thanx! We explain how to wring that last ounce of power from your Pro Tools rig. Computer power grows every year, but so to do the demands we place on our systems. The increasing sophistication and popularity of software instruments, samplers and the like means that conserving CPU power is still crucial for many of us. In this month’s workshop we’ll be looking at ways in which Pro Tool users can do just that. Playback Parameters Ultimately, the raw processing power of your computer is the key to how well your Pro Tools system will perform, whether you use a Mac or PC, TDM, LE or M–Powered system. It matters even more on host–based systems such as LE and M–Powered, because TDM systems have DSP cards to take care of most audio processing duties, leaving the host processor to manage data management, routing, driving the screen and so on. Either way, your host computer has a finite amount of processing power and when it’s gone, it’s gone! Hard–drive bandwidth can also be an issue, so although you may be able to play back a Session with 32 tracks just fine, the system may start to cough if you do some heavy editing or add lots of plug–ins and automation. Squeezing the last ounce of performance out of your system is nearly always going to be a trade–off of some description. Whether that means fewer plug–in
