I believe this is a drive permissions issue. Is the session on her primary hard disk? What OS? What version of PT? What type of drive? What has she tried so far? –Syndicate Synthetique May 31 '11 at 6:17 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote Like I said, I think this is a drive permissions issue. Make sure the session isn't on the main Mac HD. The first thing I'd do is copy the session to another drive and try and open it that way. Then if I can get the session open, check my disk allocations and permissions for the session and make sure none of them are set to the main HD. If that doesn't work, check both your Audio Files and Fade Files folders for files with potentially illegal characters like !@#$%^&*(){}|<>?:" etc. I'd also trash your pro tools preferences files and if it still doesn't open, trash the preference files again and repeat the steps above. Here's a list of Troubleshooting tips from Avid: Delete Pro Tools preferences. -Go to Users > “your user name” > Library > Preferences -Delete 'com.digidesign.protoolsLE.plist', 'DAE Prefs' (folder), 'DigiSetup.OSX' and 'Pro Tools preferences'. -Empty trash, then restart the computer. You can also use the Pro Tools Preference and Database Helper to trash preferences and databases automatically, as well as providing a few other useful tools. Pro Tools 9.0.5 DAE error -9126 by Sarah Bright on Mar 23, 2012 at 12:32:35 pm Hi guys, Having a problem importing a DV PAL video file into Pro Tools. I initially trashed Pro Tools Preferences, emptied the trash and re started the computer. I created a blank session changing the settings to: Audio File Type: BWF(.WAV) Sample Rate: 48kHz Bit Depth: 16 Bit I/O Settings: Stereo Mix These are the settings I usually use to mix with. I then imported the video again and had the same error. So, I imported the last video I used to mix with into this project http://sound.stackexchange.com/questions/8350/protools-dae-9126-error and the same error came up. I then thought it could be a drive permission issue... because when I created a test project on the desktop and import the video, it worked fine but when I create a project on the drive it won't import either the old video or this new one. I've repaired the permissions on the partition, and all the folders leading up to the audio https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/30/868367 mix project ARE read & write. Still having the same error... Also, it may be worth mentioning that the video itself imports BUT it's the audio that links to it that won't. I'm on a tight deadline so I need to get this mix on the go asap. Does anyone have any ideas? What type of drive is it? Full size drive or notebook drive? Raid? USB, FW, or other? I use an owc 2 drive raid 0 over FW with no problems. -Michael Martin Martin Media Company LLC Location Sound/Audio Post Production/Sound DesignReturn to posts indexReport Post•Re: Pro Tools 9.0.5 DAE error -9126by Sarah Bright on Mar 23, 2012 at 2:52:51 pmThanks for that... it's G-Tech 2TB drive with 2 partitions. Raid A and B. I did the necessary described in the second link but no joy. I've decided to use another projects online drive to begin this mix, as I've already been put back 6 hours :/ Do you think maybe a re-form

Since hanging up my coat so to speak a year and a bit ago, I've been messing around with music a bit more freely not really ever expecting to release pro tools error anything. In the process I feel I've discovered a sound that really works for me, so much so that I feel like it would be a crying shame not to get it out there. I'm definitely doing something that is far more my own and more unusual, but I think fans of my later stuff will definitely hear a familiar s...ound in there! One big change is definitely happening though. I'm changing my name, I know some of you won't like it but the fact is this name has not only bugged me and been completely juxtaposed against my musical style and taste for a long time, but it has seriously held me back on a number of occasions in terms of career opportunities. I will be releasing my first single as 'Abel' on the 25th July (next Monday) through my label Do Better. I'm so excited to get some new music out there to and I hope you guys can get behind this next stage in my artistic career.
