few edits away from wrapping up. Unfortunately the hard drive on my desktop crashed a few weeks ago, and I've been working on getting my new laptop set up with Pro Tools. The problem I've run into is the software I was using originally (Pro Tools LE 7.4) isn't compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. The software came with the Mbox2 Mini I bought. I did a little research and found that I'd need to upgrade to at least version 8.0.3 to be able to record with Pro Tools on my laptop with my Mbox2 Mini. I went out and bought a copy, came home and installed it. It took 4 tries and 2 and a half hours of my patience, but I finally got it installed. My problems didn't stop there. Although I can hear myself in my headphones, I'm not able to see any levels when I've armed a track to record. So I tried opening some previous sessions, but when I go to playback, I get an error message saying there's a problem detected with my audio clock and that I should check that my source and sample rate are correct. My audio clock is set on "internal;" there's no other option for me to choose, so I'm not sure what the problem is there. If anyone can shine some light on this, I'd appreciate it. In the meantime, I've contacted Avid, and I'm still awaiting a response. If I'm able to fix it I will share my findings here. In the meantime, I'm working on finishing up lyrics. They're coming along slowly but surely. Update 7/31/10 - I upgraded to version 8.0.4. Pro Tools offers this as a free upgrade to anyone who has LE 8 or higher. I was able to finally record and playback tracks without the audio clock problem. However, I was getting a distorted sound when I recorded and when I would play tracks back. Luckily this was an easy fix: I just lowered my H/W buffer size.
