Unable To Locate Avid Hardware Mac
here similar to this but it didn't seem to help me... I recently bought an M-Audio M-track Plus with Pro Tools Express. I went through all the steps with iLok and all the steps the Mtrack manual told me to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62gUhJ0choM do to set up the interface with my computer, and ProTools still will not open. It says "Unable to locate hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on. Click ''OK'' when the hardware is ready." I connected my interface through usb and made sure my computer was recognizing the device, and still I can't open ProTools Express. Please help. *I am running Windows 7 (4 GB, 64-bit) apoltorak6 View Public Profile Send a private message to apoltorak6 http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=349095 Find all posts by apoltorak6 #2 01-11-2014, 03:07 AM ken4 Member Join Date: Jan 2014 Location: 6430 Towne Woods Dr Saint Louis MO 63129 Posts: 1 Re: Pro Tools Express can't locate hardware. I had the same issue. Apparently it is common that the wrong drive gets installed during set up. I call Avid support. They took over my computer, uninstalled the driver and installed the correct driver. ken4 View Public Profile Send a private message to ken4 Find all posts by ken4 #3 01-13-2014, 06:14 AM JoelG Moderator Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Canada Posts: 1,589 Re: Pro Tools Express can't locate hardware. Edit Delete Wang Lio December 26, 2012 01:56 Unable to locate M- Audio hardware affecting the access to Pro Tools program Edit Subject My M- Audio USB microphone is not detected for the Pro Tools M- Powered Essential program, so when I tried to open the program, it said, "Unable to locate M- Audio hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on," but I can see and use the microphone in GarageBand or the general setting for sound on my MBP and the blue light for the mic comes on once I plug it in my Macbook Pro, so what's the problem, and how do I resolve that. If you know how, please give me a reply email at wangnga@hawaii.edu Thank you. 3 people havethis question +1 follow Answered 4812692 Link Short URL Reply 0 Edit Delete Remove Official Fork CMeadows December 27, 2012 17:36 Hello, Thank you for contacting M-Audi
the bottom of this post) Here are a few ways to fix it: Make sure your interface is connected DIRECTLY to an open port on your computer (no usb hubs, monitor ports, keyboard ports, splitters, trees or docking stations) Make sure your interface is turned ON If 1 & 2 didn't fix it, try unplugging the usb cable from the computer & move it over to a new port. This should reload the drivers for your interface & refresh the connection with the computer. Note: If you're using a firewire interface, Shutdown the computer & turn off the 002 / 003 before unplugging the firewire cables! Run Digi Driver - Go into "My Computer" then your "C:" drive, then "Program Files" (if it tells you the files are hidden, click to show the files). Go into the "Digidesign" folder, then into the "Drivers" folder - here is the full path My Computer > C: > Program Files > Digidesign > Drivers. Now look for the Digidriver logo & double click on it. Choose "install". If any boxes pop up, just choose "Continue Anyway" If Pro Tools still can't find your interface, then we will have to manually point the computer in the right direction. Checking For Drivers in the "Device Manager" Click the "Start" button, then right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties" Click the "Hardware" Tab at the top of the window, then click the button for "Device Manager" Click the "+" next to "Sound Video & Game Controllers" to show the contents of that category. For the Mbox 2, you should see "Digidesign Mbox 2 Audio Driver" & "Digidesign Mbox 2 Midi Driver" - If either of them have a yellow "!" or "?" next to them, then follow THESE steps. If you don't see the Mbox 2 Audio Driver, look for something called "Usb Audio Device" & follow THESE steps. If you see neither the Mbox 2 Audio nor Mbox 2 Midi driver, look for them under the "Unknown Devices" or "Unused Devices" category. Once you've found them, follow THESE steps and note the directions in green. If you can't find the drivers anywhere, double check to make sure the M-box or 002/003 is plugged in directly to the back of the computer & not through any hub or computer monitor / keyboard. Manually Installing Digi
