Jilleneh) Hi Jilleneh,If this is the first time you are trying to connect, make sure that your server, network, firewall are all ok. There are lots of gotchas here! If you have previously been able to connect, what circumstances cause the error? If you post some more details of your situation, I can be more specific. I have certainly seen this error several times in different circumstances.Let me know.CheersIan Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. DB2 V5.1 9907, DB2 Connect EE V6.1 base product. The error is ... --------------------------------------------- SQL30081N - A communication error has been detected. Communication protocol being used: "TCP/IP". Communication API being used: "SOCKETS". Location where the error was detected: "". Communication function detecting the error: "connect". Protocol specific error code(s): "10060,"*",SQLSTATE=8001 ------------------------------------ (I had to type in the error as I was given a hard copy version - so there maybe a typo) The problem is intermittent, we can often re-execute the same script/program which got the error and it works - just seconds later. Sometimes we go for days/weeks and no problem, then we get a heap of them. I have looked and found the error codes which basically says a "communication error". Actually the programmer response in the manual was "Consult with a communications expert to determine the cause of the communication failure." So, I think it could be some network generated error - which did not take much imagination really :) I am following through on that with IBM support. In the meantime, I wanted to know if other DB2Connect EE sites have encountered this problem and can shed some light. I am connecting via MSACCESS so maybe it's hiding this from me. I also get this is the MSTR log: - 11.10.57 STC01515 DSNL027I SDB1 SERVER DISTRIBUTED AGENT WITH LUW
