If it occurs on an External Outlook client, I think we are using Outlook Anywhere and we have to add the “mail.abc-company.com” to the domain names in the certificate. If the error occurs on Internal Outlook, we can workaround this issue by turning off “Outlook Anywhere” by: 1. On a problematic Client, open Outlook. 2. Click Tools >> Account settings. 3. Double click the profile name and click More Settings. 4. On the Connection tab, uncheck on “Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP”. 5. Save the changes and restart the Outlook to check this issue. How you accomplish that depends on your version of Exchange, and you didn't share that with us.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." 7 virtual machines. Citrix profile management has been tightly integrated into active directory instead of using the local Citrix policy engine. there is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate exchange 2013 We are still working out the bugs (thanks McAffee). The only real pending issue is the random Outlook Proxy servers certificate error that happens when users launch Microsoft Outlook. Here is the actual error: Outlook: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/980846f8-e616-4150-9f6a-eaa85f06a76d/outlook-gives-an-error-for-proxy-server-certificate?forum=exchangesvrclientslegacy there is a problem with the proxy servers certificate. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server mail.server.com (Error Code 80000000). The above error is interesting because there does not seem to be any real way of controlling the proxy server by using GPO. These settings are passed down to the client from the exchange servers, which are hosted by a different provider. When we asked for assistance troubleshooting the https://www.cibengineering.com/blog/problem-proxy-servers-certificate/ issue, we received the expected answer. "Its probably an issue with your build, we are not experiencing this issue anywhere else." And that was it… Now, since the issue happens randomly on persistent and non persistent Windows 7 and Windows 8 virtual machines (and tablets), we had to just sit at the console and log off/on until the error presented itself. And… After many attempts, here is what we found: This is ideally not the most elegant solution to correct the above outlook proxy error, but it works every time. To correct the issue, simply navigate to the following registry key before opening outlook and delete everything under it. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook\ and delete everything under outlook. Then launch Outlook. After deleting the above keys and launching outlook, the issue goes away until the computer, tablet, or VM is rebooted. The question obviously still remains "why is this happening", and there is still more work to be done. It does not help us to host our Exchange with a different provider (it should be internal), but that's not ever going to change. Scripting or GPO can be used to purge these keys at user logon as a temporary fix. If you happen to come across the same issue, we wo

proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site server.domain.com. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server (Error Code 10) The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site The cause of these errors is that Outlook is connecting using Outlook Anywhere although it is able to contact Exchange, it is using a name that is not on the certificate. To resolve the issue, there are two options. Either you need to create a new certificate request and add the name to the certificate (see here for instructions) or you need to configure Exchange not to autoconfigure Outlook with this name and specify a different name that is on the certificate. This autoconfiguration is known as autodiscover. More on that in another post. In this post, we'll look at how to configure Exchange Outlook Anywhere so that this issue no longer occurs. 1) Confirm current Outlook Anywhere hostnames We need to confirm that the Outlook Anywhere hostname includes the hostname in the error, in our case litex01.litwareinc.com. To do this run the below command: Get-OutlookAnywhere | fl ExternalHostname,InternalHostname 2) Create DNS records We need to choose a name that is included on the certificate that is used by the CAS servers and/or reverse proxies. In our case, we will use the same name, mail.litwareinc.com, in internal and external DNS as we are using split brain DNS. You can use different names as long as both are included on your certificate. Using a single name is simpler for troubleshooting and means that less names are required on the certificate which can reduce your costs in some cases. The internal A recordneeds to resolve to the internal IP of the CAS server or load balancer virtual IP if you are load balancing multiple CAS servers. The external A recordneeds to resolve to the public IP of the CAS server or load balancer virtual IP if you are load balancing multiple CAS servers. If you are using a reverse proxy then you need to configure the A record to resolve to the public IP of your reverse proxy. 3) Configure new Outlook Anywhere hostnames To configure Autodiscover Outlook Anywhere with the internal and external hostnames, run the command b
