Get your proxy name in the following path: file> account settings> select the user name and double click> more settings> connection> Exchange proxy settings please note that the proxy name should be same with the FQDN, showed in the same tab. Get names in your certificate by running: Get-Exchangecertificate And please note that your proxy name is same with your domain FQDN, which is also shown in the Exchange proxy settings tab. Hope it can help you. Proxy server   4 Replies Jalapeno OP gfxrelay Jan 25, 2014 at 4:52 UTC Hi, what version of Exchange are you using? 0 https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/434416-problem-with-proxy-server-security-certificate-don-t-use-a-proxy-server Jalapeno OP Helpful Post gfxrelay Jan 25, 2014 at 5:01 UTC Ooh almost forgot about this issue. We had it a while ago. Outlook tries to connect to Exchange over https, but this normally happens if the name on the certificate does not match the name of the exchange server you are trying to connect to. We found that you either have to regenerate the the certificate that exchange uses and include all the required names or you have to change the settings in outlook to only connect over http. The last mentioned option is less secure, but a lot easier to do. 2 Serrano OP CFonseca Jan 27, 2014 at 3:14 UTC Thank you for the suggestion. The issue seems to have corrected itself for the time being and I'm not quite sure what happened, but I will give that a try if it happens again. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site mail.contosco.com. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server. (Error Code 0) (The message has our company URL instead of Contosco) We've set this up with self-signed cert and the system works remotely for the proxy server all of our remote computers except this one. This one is different in that it is the first Vista 64bit to be tested for deployment. It's Vista SP2 also. Our mail server is set up FQN of mail.contosco.local. I've made sure if I visit the website mail.contosco.com using a browser, that the certificate is considered trusted since I have installed the signing cert into cert list. If I turn off the "Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate:" which contains msstd: mail.contosco.com, then it works. I'm convinced all the other settings are the same as our other Vista Outlook 2007 machines which all work.
