all the way through to the auto launched Windows 7 virtual machines. Citrix profile management outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server error code 8 windows 7 has been tightly integrated into active directory instead of using the local Citrix policy engine. We are still working out the bugs (thanks there is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate exchange 2013 McAffee). The only real pending issue is the random Outlook Proxy servers certificate error that happens when users launch Microsoft Outlook. Here is the actual error: Outlook: there is a problem with the proxy servers certificate. Outlook https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/923575 is unable to connect to the proxy server mail.server.com (Error Code 80000000). The above error is interesting because there does not seem to be any real way of controlling the proxy server by using GPO. These settings are passed down to the client from the exchange servers, which are hosted by a different provider. When we asked for assistance troubleshooting the issue, we received the expected answer. "Its probably an issue with your build, we are https://www.cibengineering.com/blog/problem-proxy-servers-certificate/ not experiencing this issue anywhere else." And that was it… Now, since the issue happens randomly on persistent and non persistent Windows 7 and Windows 8 virtual machines (and tablets), we had to just sit at the console and log off/on until the error presented itself. And… After many attempts, here is what we found: This is ideally not the most elegant solution to correct the above outlook proxy error, but it works every time. To correct the issue, simply navigate to the following registry key before opening outlook and delete everything under it. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook\ and delete everything under outlook. Then launch Outlook. After deleting the above keys and launching outlook, the issue goes away until the computer, tablet, or VM is rebooted. The question obviously still remains "why is this happening", and there is still more work to be done. It does not help us to host our Exchange with a different provider (it should be internal), but that's not ever going to change. Scripting or GPO can be used to purge these keys at user logon as a temporary fix. If you happen to come across the same issue, we would love to hear how you corrected it. » Exchange 2013 certificate error: There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. Let's take a look at an issue where users keep getting the following pop up in the outlook client http://msexchangeguru.com/2015/10/02/error-code10/ frequently. There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site "server.domain.local" Outlook is unable to https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/434416-problem-with-proxy-server-security-certificate-don-t-use-a-proxy-server connect to the proxy server. (Error Code 10) Possibility 1: => On the user's machine launch Outlook=> Click File => Go to Account Settings. => Select the email account and then click Change. => Click proxy server the More Settings button. => Now click the Exchange Proxy Settings. => Copy the URL for "Only connect to the proxy servers that have this principle name in their certificate" & try to browse it. => You will get a certificate error, click on the top red x mark next to the address bar. It will open a certificate. => Check the DNS names listed in the certificate & make the proxy server a note of them. => Now go the Exchange Server, Launch Exchange Management Shell.' => Run the following command: Get-OutlookAnywhere => Look for the following options: ExternalHostname mail.domain.com InternalHostname mail.domain.local => Compare these two entries with the list of names we collected from the client machines certificate. => You will find that the internal host name is missing in the certificate. => To resolve this issue, we can run the following command to match the Internal Host name to the External host name as in the certificate SAN entry: Set-OutlookAnywhere -Identity "EXCH201301Rpc (Default Web Site)" -InternalHostname mail.domain.com -InternalClientsRequireSsl $true => Next run IIS reset or simply recycle the AutoDiscover AppPool in the IIS Manager. => This change will take effect soon after the user closes & reopens the outlook, however the default autodiscover refresh internal is 1 hour, so it's better to test after an hour or so. Possibility 2: Run the following script. Note that not all of this is relevant to the subject matter issue but you need to have your Exchange server tuned this way: Get-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory -ADPropertiesOnly | fl Identity, *lurl*, *method* Get-ECPVirtualDirectory -ADPropertiesOnly | fl Identity, *method*, *lurl* Get-OWAVirtualDirectory -ADPropertiesOnly | fl Identity, *method*, *lurl* Get-WebservicesvirtualDirectory -ADPropertiesOnly | fl Identity, *method*, *lurl* Get-OABvirtualDirectory -ADPropertie

Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now Good morning all, I was just notified by a user this morning (my boss) that she is unable to connect to Outlook on our Terminal Server. She is the only user with this issue. She is using Outlook 2010 and uses this Terminal Server very frequently. The error reads: There is a problem with the proxy servers's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site [server.domain.com]. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server. (Error Code 0). We don't use a proxy server, nor is there any certificate that I'm aware of. Exchange isn't my strong point, so I was hoping you guys could help point me in the right direction! In the meantime, guess I'll call my buddy Google. Thanks Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: Outlook 2010 Proxy Server security certficate Proxy Server? Proxy server   4 Replies Jalapeno OP gfxrelay Jan 25, 2014 at 4:52 UTC Hi, what version of Exchange are you using? 0 Jalapeno OP Helpful Post gfxrelay Jan 25, 2014 at 5:01 UTC Ooh almost forgot about this issue. We had it a while ago. Outlook tries to connect to Exchange over https, but this normally happens if the name on the certificate does not match the name of the exchange server you are trying to connect to. We found that you either have to regenerate the the certificate that exchange uses and include all the required names or you have to change the settings in outlook to only connect over http. The last mentioned option is less secure, but a lot easier to do. 2 Serrano OP CFonseca Jan 27, 2014 at 3:14 UTC Thank you for the suggestion. The issue seems to have corrected itself for the time being and I'm not quite sure what happened, but I will give that a try if it happens again. Thanks again! 0 Pimiento OP Mohammed8790 Oct 19, 2014 at 9:22 UTC 1st Post I found this KB article from Microsoft on this issue, worth to look at. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923575 0 T
