When you get a PXE message it's because you have network booting enabled. First thing I would try and di is to turn off Network booting in bios entirely. Make sure that your boot sequence is set the CD Rom and HDD first. Network should be last in the boot sequence or not enabled at all. Here comes the downside. If your boot sequence is properly set, and show either CD or HDD as first boot device, then it is most likely that the error message appears due to hard drive failure. The system is trying to boot

Votes: Rating: 0 Delete: 0 From: Silas on 06/12/2015 Hello everyone,My name is Silas and I have a Dell Inspiron M5040 laptop. It's having a hard drive failure. I successfully replaced the hard drive, however this annoying error keeps coming up: Intel UND1, PXE-2.1 (build 083)Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel CorporationThis product is covered by one of more of the following patents: US5 ,307 ,459 , US5434, 872, US5,732,094, US6,570,884, US6,115,776, and US6,327,625Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Series v1.24 (10/07/10)PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cablePXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.Reboot and Select proper Boot deviceor Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key.I tried the tapping the hard drive method, with no luck. I was wondering if I should've purchased a copy of Windows 7, maybe that's what's missing? It says nothing about a missing operating system, and I've no idea if my external hard drive has a copy of it or something. I connected it as well to the USB port on the side of the laptop, and it made no difference. I already set the hard drive as the first boot priority. What does any of this mean? What do I need to fix? Are there any sources I can use that can be provided to help fix this problem? I'm incredibly frustrated after working on fixing this laptop for almost a week now. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thank you in advance. Votes:
