There is no newer release level than R7. You can read this: http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/Articles/SLN62893 If you did NOT download the installation fresh, you likely got an old https://community.intuit.com/questions/996695-maintenance-update-error release. The new release is here: http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/Support/ProductUpdates.aspx?lid=UpdateDownloads%20(SUB%20HDR) And the instructions to download and install just the update patch and run it manually are there, as well. I had to run the program as administrator and the update finally completed. I do now have release R7P. However, when I open QB, the message "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer?" appears. If I choose "no", then QB does not open. If I choose "yes", then QB opens and looks normal. Obviously this is not the way it should work. Is there something I can do about this? wagranch × Close Why do you want to report this? Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other One other thing I should mention. After installing QB, when I first tried to open a QBW file, I first had to change the properties of that file attribute so that it was no longer "read only", as the file would not open until I did that. The file then opened
