Disk Read Error Windows 10
a problem with and I realized it couldn't be copied on my system either. Therefore, in all likelihood, itwas the cd itself that was a disk read error occurred windows 10 problematic, not the system, player or other hardware. The error received when trying to copy the file was a cyclic redundancycheck (CRC) error. In fact, this is the most common error encountered with cd/dvd access or copying problems and http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/disk-read-error-occurred-message-how-do-i-fix-this I knew that such a problem was often caused by a dirty or scratched disc, so I examined the surface of the cd and just as I suspected, it was marked. It had a distinct smudgeprinton it. I cleaned the whole cd and after doing so, voila! ,I was able to copy the needed file from the cd to my hard drive.I informed her that the problem was fixed and when I told her it was just a matter http://www.percontra.net/archive/2corruptcddvdrecovery.htm of cleaning the disc, she was surprised that the solutionwas so simple and never thought such a confoundingproblem could be caused by a less than pristine condition cd. The fact is that cds and dvds can be very finicky. Just one speck of dirt or a hairline scratch can cause problems in accessing your data or the disc itself. These marks can make it difficult for the drive's laser beam to properly read the disc. Fortunately, dirty discs can be cleaned. Scratches can be more problematic, though, in many cases they can be repaired. With scratches, the severity of the problemdepends muchon the type and location of the scratch.Scratches that run across the disc or along the track, as opposed to those that run in a straight line from rim to center, can be the most difficult to repair. These type of problems are unique to cd and dvd media because the surfaces of the discs are bare and exposed, offering no protection against dust, finger prints, smudge, dirt and scratches. An exception is most dvd-ram discs which are encased in protective cartridges. Hard drives are enclosed in a tough metal shell and even cheap floppy discs are protected with a plastic cartridge. It should be stated that most scratches and marks do not usually affect playing a cd or dvd butwhen a problem accessing a cd or filedoes occur, the

Comments Discs are one of the best media that can be used for backup purposes because they are relatively cheap today. A CD-R can store up to 700MB of data while a DVD-R contains 6 times more space than a CD-R. Moreover, writing your files to discs as backup does have another advantage where the data are read only. This means that if you insert the disc onto any computer, no one including powerful virus such as Almanahe that infects executable files is able to modify or delete the files that are written to the disc. The only problem with CD and DVD disc is it don't last forever and also it's sensitive. If the disc has your finger print or small scratches because of bad handling, chances are old disc players can't read the disc properly. As for most modern disc players, it has error correction and can usually read through fingerprints as scratched surface. That is why some players seems to get stuck on some discs while it plays perfectly on another. However, if your disc player is unable to read your disc and you need to get back your data or photo from there, here are a few tools that you can use to try to get back your data before taking chances in some weird unorthodox methods such as using toothpaste, banana skin, candle wax or even flushing it in toilet bowl that may just damage the disc entirely! Before you get to the list of programs that can help you recover data from scratched CD, I would like to explain to you how does all these program work. When a disc is badly scratched, that part or sector will become unreadable. If you copy the CD contents directly through the Windows 7 copy and paste function, you will definitely get an error saying "Invalid MS-DOS function", a very generic error message that doesn't even tells you that there is a problem with the disc. With the programs listed below, you can copy and keep the file till the last bit that it was able to copy without error. That means that it is able to copy whatever it can without giving you error message and stopping there.1. Roadkil's Unstoppable CopierRo
