steps to follow so that you can firstly identify a problem you may be having with an optical disc followed by some steps you can take to correct that problem. The sequence here

of the steps may involve treatment to the surface of the disc to correct reading errors and it is important to note that they may NOT be applicable to Blu-ray discs. Blu-ray discs are manufactured differently and only light polishing a disk read error occurred windows 7 is suitable for them. Doing otherwise may result in permanent damage to the disc surface that may render the disc completely useless. The main difficulty in starting out is that you are most likely getting some kind of error message from the disc reader and you think that the problem is from some particular source because of that message. Common error messages such as Disc Error, No Disc, Invalid DVD Navigation or even Invalid File Structure tend to make you disk read error windows 7 think you have a problem disc… not a problem reader. The reality is that these and just about all other error messages you may get are essentially meaningless and are telling you nothing. They are simply pre-written error messages that may randomly appear from within the software when ANY kind of problem occurs. They are not the result of some hidden and highly technical diagnostic process having been carried out by the software! It’s just smoke and mirrors! You can place a faulty disc into a reader and have it report that there is No Disc… which is just silly because obviously there is a disc in there! So let's get started. Is It A Disc Error or a Player Error? If you have a disc that won’t play in a particular device the first thing to do is to take the disc out and inspect the surface of that disc in good light. Angle the disc so that you can see the surface clearly and not just reflections. Look for any obvious scratches or marks or even heavy fingerprints or dirty areas. The key area of the disc to check is right at the center where the data begins. Regardless of what is on the disc and what type it is, the data is written from the inner area first moving from there towards the outer edge. This inner area is the most important as it
Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart Error Raymond Updated 4 years ago Windows 101 Comments When you have a problem while using your computer and you receive an error message during a crash, you're hoping the message will point toward the cause and then it can

be appropriately rectified. This doesn't always happen though and the message can be rather generic and a disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart the fix isn't exactly a straightforward affair with a clear place to start troubleshooting.Unfortunately, there seems to be many errors you could encounter on

your system that sound straightforward but lead to the same problem, the error message isn't accurate enough for you to make a clear decision about what to do next. A while back I had a problem with my computer, http://diyvideoeditor.com/guide-to-dvd-cd-game-disc-repair/ and after some odd things happening such as a CD-R failing a burn and the computer starting to respond very slow, I decided to shut it down and leave it for a while. When I booted it up the next day, I got the error message:A disk read error occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. However, the BIOS detected the hard drive just fine. After an exhaustive search around the Internet and forums, no one had the exact fix for this problem https://www.raymond.cc/blog/help-a-disk-read-error-occurred-press-ctrlaltdelete-to-restart/ and there doesn't seem to be one fix to try in preference to any others. What makes this even worse is there are so many different ways to attempt to fix this error, it could take days to get through them all. And to make matters worse, a disk read error might not actually mean there's a problem with the hard drive itself! Also there seems to be just as many software causes as hardware causes.Listed below are some of the possible solutions we came across to fix the "A disk read error occurred. Press ctrl+alt+delete to restart" problem.1. Test the MemoryThis isn't actually mentioned that much around the web as a solution to the disk read error problem, but believe it or not, this was my problem. I used a tool called Memtest86+ and ran tests on my RAM, and indeed there were problems. After experimenting between different sticks and RAM slots I eventually deduced my RAM slot 2 was damaged because the sticks worked fine in the other slots. As this is a simple and non destructive test meaning you're not touching the hard drive risking further damage, it is recommended you try this first. It may sound odd but in fact memory problems can be responsible for a vast array of different errors on a system where testing your RAM might be the last thing you think of.2. Try the Drive on Another MachineAs we've said,
taking it in, if I push it in, it throws it back. If I click on CDROM button, it says Error reading disk, though CD ia not inside. Is it gone bad now ? Anybody faced such issue ? db4690 2014-01-05 10:54:04 UTC #2 http://community.cartalk.com/t/cd-drive-error-reading-disk/82990 Does it do this with all discs? abhisheks77 2014-01-05 11:04:20 UTC #3 Yes, I had 3 disk, tried with all. Home made CDs did not always work in my 2000 Blazer. Another question, do you leave disk read error the CDs in the player? If I left a CD in the player overnight, the next day I would sometimes get an error message, especially on colder or damper nights. My best guess was that there was some condensation on the CD that was interfering with playback. Once the Blazer warmed up the CD player would start working again. Don't leave a CD in the unit overnight and try again the next day. Try a store bought CD if the home made one doesn't work. Ed B. abhisheks77 2014-01-05 22:25:02 UTC #8 Yes these are home made CD, but they worked for sometime before stopping.Yes, I left my CD inside drive. And at that time I was in Utah, it was 27 F temperature in night. So I can't fix it myself now ? knfenimore 2014-01-05 23:12:58 UTC #9 Had the same problem with my 99 Camry. I replaced the whole radio. My 09 Camry I use my phone plugged into the Aux port. Aux port is in the door below the radio in the center console. I put my whole CD collection on it and it a whole lot better than dealing with CD's. dagosa 2014-01-05 23:22:52 UTC #10 Try a CD with brush cleaner for laser lens. If it doesn't take it, it may need replacement . If you have to buy new, convert CDs to mp3 and be done with it. @edb1961 has some good points. These units last a long long time....but are suspect in cars if things aren't perfect. keith 2014-01-06 02
