It sounds like it IS the fix for this issue however I can't verify it because I searched for a solution for four days when I first ran into this error message. I didn't find one so I finally had to do a complete format and re-install from scratch... after I had taken out the damaged hard drive and placed it in one of my USB external enclosures. Thankfully, I was able to read the drive contents and saved all of it. Bottom line -- lots of extra work to do this and it would have been really neat to solve this in the beginning with a solution like yours!
