I'm perfecting my 2nd Hackintosh; theMattintosh 2 (see signature for specs). I have a few nagging issues that I can't seem to fix, and I figure it's best to start with the first ones that pop up, and ebios read error error 0x01 maybe when they get fixed, some or all of the others down the line will get fixed too. Here's what I'm seeing on startup, immediately following the ASRock boot screen: EBIOS read error: Error 0x31 Block 0x0 Sectors 0 EBIOS read error: Error 0x31 Block 0x0 Sectors 0 EBIOS read error: Error 0x31 Block 0x0 Sectors 0 EBIOS read error: Error 0x31 Block 0x0 Sectors 0 Here's what spits out when I runlspci from the Terminal: pcilib: 0000:03:00.0 64-bit device address ignored. pcilib: 0000:03:00.0 64-bit device address ignored. pcilib: 0000:00:02.0 64-bit device address ignored. 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge DRAM Controller (rev 09) 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge PCI Express Root Port (rev 09) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge Graphics Controller (rev 09) 00:14.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation Panther Point USB xHCI Host Controller (rev 04) 00:16.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation Panther Point MEI Controller #1 (rev 04) 00:1a.0 US

Have tried the steps outlined in a number of ebios read error guides, and have a couple of issues / questions: My hardware is - 1 * small USB and 1 * 16GB Sandisk Cruzer USB 1. On my boot disk DellEFI 1.1 - unzipped and copied contents to root (with subdirs) DellMiniBoot v8.02b1 - unzipped and copied contents to root (with subdirs) syslinux -ma h: and copied over mobilebroadband and aboutthismac When I boot it I get the initrd and all dots, then it comes up with about 10 of these errors: EBIOS Read Error: Error 0x04 Block 8844999: Sectors 64 I have rebuilt the drive several times, and also tried a different USB stick but still the same error. 1. On my OSX drive Also a point of clarification, and please dont laugh ! Do I need to copy the dmg file to the other USB or expand it to be the actual folder structure ? I have tried both but neither are recognised on the bootloader. (tylping in 81,82 etc finds nothing) I have taken an image of the OSX retail disk, and saved it to my PC using transmac. I then uncompressed it using transmac again and then copied it over to the large USB. I then added the OSXDVD.zip contents to the root of the drive. What am I doing wrong ?
