Does that mean that I can safely use the disk after a low level format & it won't have any issues? If you provided more information both about the model of drive you are using as well as about the errors the Samsung utility reported you might get better answers. Without knowing the details of your situation all we can really do is speculate. Well, that, and perhaps wave our hands wildly in the air for emphasis. LBA is an acronym for Logical Block Addressing. In this case I assume it is just another, possibly more technically accurate way of referring to a "bad sector".

However I would run CrystalDiskInfo on it first and see if the drive believes it is running fine. If you https://hardforum.com/threads/lba-0-bug-error-how-to-fix-it.1570190/ get any status other than good from crystaldiskinfo its probably time for an RMA. Remember to get whatever data off the drive if you can WD will not fix your drive and send it back to you they will send you a different drive and your data will not be recovered from the old drive. drescherjm, Dec 18, 2010 drescherjm, Dec 18, 2010 #2 Dec 18, 2010 #3 rickyman123 Gawd Messages: 798 Joined: Dec 5, 2007 i have downloaded Crystaldiskinfo. all ( 2x 1.5 TB) drives say it is cautious and the 2 TB drive is bad. but it is still working. rickyman123, Dec 18, 2010 rickyman123, Dec 18, 2010 #3 Dec 18, 2010 #4 drescherjm [H]ardForum Junkie Messages: 12,598 Joined: Nov 19, 2008 Can you post a screen capture? drescherjm, Dec 18, 2010 drescherjm, Dec 18, 2010 #4 Dec 19, 2010 #5 rickyman123 Gawd Messages: 798 Joined: Dec 5, 2007 rickyman123, Dec 19, 2010 rickyman123, Dec 19, 2010 #5 Dec 19, 2010 #6 drescherjm [H]ardForum Junkie Messages: 12,598 Joined: Nov 19, 2008 Drive D: has 498 bad sectors that the

Be shure that you put zener diode 2V7 at the picture..Because you could burn your Tx,Rx, on HDD-s PCB.So, when you build, get your adapter, connect it to this pins on Seagete drive.[ '''''''''''''''| |''''''''' ] [ .. ..] ----> Rx .. TxYou do not need to connect SERIAL-ATA CABELopen hyper terminal or another type of terminal select Serial port example "COM1"set bitrate to 38400bpsdata bits 8parity Nstop bits 1it's default settings except bps.plug power to disk and after that you will see on terminal something like this:PART 1Rst 0x10M hit Ctrl + Z to get "prompt"F3 T>now, if your BIOS recognize disk but there is 0 LBA,0 capacityall you need is to hit this command:F3 T>m0,2,2,0,0,0,0,22
