Did you try the card in another device? Another camera or a computer to see if you get a read error as well? Save all your pictures in your computer and reformat your sd card again
 thisisatypo 2 posts Posted March 2, 2014 But I just bought this SD card along with the camera... I'm basically new to everything haha. If you can do that What is the make and model and capacity of the card? What is the computers OS? Are you shooting RAW or jpeg or both? That is enough top at least start with. and seeing the same photos again in reverse order. I took the card out of the camera, put it into the SD Card reader and put it into my PC. All the photos on the card were there and http://www.fujixseries.com/forums/topic/6507-read-error-message-when-looking-at-pictures-on-camera/ I could open any of them, even the one where I had reached when I got the error message. I put the card back into the camera and did a bit more scrolling when I got the same message again but this time at a different photograph. Once again I checked via the PC and everything was fine. When I looked at the manual it says that there are two similar messages that you can get. These are "Read Error" https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/2528178 and "?Read Error". For the first one, it suggests wiping the contact area of the card with a dry cloth and possibly reformatting the card and if it still continues, replace the card. For the second message, which is the one I'm getting, it says "Contact your Fujifilm Dealer". However, the camera was bought from an on-line store so going back to the supplier is not an option. All the photographs on the SD card were taken using my new camera and the SD card was bought at the same time as the camera as part of a package from the same supplierHas anyone else had this "?Read Error" message and do they have any suggestions? Thanks. So if the problem emerged right after using the card in the PC, that may be the issue. This woudl be consistent with the camera NOT being able to read the images, while the PC has no problems. If thats the case, format the card in the camera, and use the write protect switch when i
X100T, and X70 > Medium Format Fuji Announced! Dismiss Notice Memory Card error anyone? Discussion in 'X100, X100S, X100T, and X70' started by 5onny, Dec 18, 2014. Never happened with the most recent x100s also, with the same slot design and more than 13.000 shoots since february: now this evening suddenly red blinking light and the error: fortunately solved by turning the camera off, taking the read error card out and reinserting the card in. But I got scaried because I was shooting and I had already 100 pictures on the card (dual slot ftw btw). So this is my concern, and I really hope it's just the memory card o(r an unlucky coincidence) and not some strange camera defect, because I didn't hit the camera: so anybody got a similar error? 5onny, Dec 18, 2014 #1 JonMo Premium Member Messages: 362 Likes Received: fuji card reader 155 Location: Canada -Return to Top- Not on the fuji but have had it in the past with SD cards. A little burnishing or oxidation on the SD contacts. Never with a CF card. Some times a little smear on the contact where it can't make a good connection. I make sure the card is empty and clean each contact separately. Hope that helps JonMo, Dec 18, 2014 #2 David Schneider Premium Member Messages: 2,083 Likes Received: 674 Location: NJ, USA -Return to Top- Seems like camera had a connection problem with the sd card and told you about. You fixed the connection problem by re-inserting. All good. This seems to be especially true if you import to Lightroom, and especially if you perform any develop manipulations in Lightroom while the card is still in the computer. Lightroom installs a sidecar file on the SD card that the camera cannot read. Locking the card only takes a second; and, after starting this process, have never had another card read error. Just remember to unlock the card before putt
