I have tried connecting the camera to the computer and tried to connect the card directly. Both methods were unsuccesful in reading the data on the card. I have two memory cards, a 16mb and 64mb. The 64 card is the one with the desired photos, which is the one with the read error. When the 16 mb card was used with the camera, everything was working fine. This made me believe that it was the memory card that is the problem. My question is is there a way to recover the photos from the supposedly faulty memory card? X100T, and X70 > Medium Format Fuji Announced! Dismiss Notice X100s: "READ ERROR" Discussion in 'X100, X100S, X100T, and X70' started by sebaot, Jul 16, 2014. sebaot New Member Messages: 10 Likes Received: 1 Location: Sweden -Return to Top- Good evening, I was recently out traveling and had the X100S loaded with a Transcend SD XC 128 GB card. After 1400-something pictures, the screen began to say "READ ERROR" in view mode. I got on the interwebs to search the topic and it said "faulty SD-card", "incompatible SD-card", "format the SD-card", and similar so I wasn't very amused. It's not an option to format something with more than a thousand pictures of travel from one coast to the other. What we did here was put the SD-card into my travelmate's Lumix-camera, and it read everything just fine. A major relief so I kept using the camera and a few hundred pictures later, it was showing everything fine without errors. Getting back home and reading it into a computer also worked great. This seems software-related to me, being that Lumix could read it and Fuji could not, so is this something that's been fixed? I was unable to upgrade the X100S to the latest firmware before leaving because I had no SD-reader, and my file-mode was RAW+JPEG, and with it taking 1000+ shots before it happened, it strikes me as a difficult issue to reproduce unless you've got lots of time on your hands. Best regards sebaot, Jul 16, 2014 #1 Zazoh Member Messages: 25 Likes Received: 5 Location: Mico TX -Return to Top- For the first time I received a "Read Error" the other day too. I recently got the Firmware upgrade. I noticed it appeared when I got to the end of the shots I had taken. It is the first time in a long time that I didn't format the card when I put back in camera and I did remove some files from the card when I did have it in my computer. End of the day it is still working fine. Zazoh, Jul 17, 2014 #2 JJF88 New Member Messages: 44 Likes Received: 4 Location: Phila USA -Return to Top- My X100 does that as well when I view the last image and then arrow over one more time.. Never had a issue with it with any card.. Latest Firmware as well. Not worrying about it. I think the cause is if I delete files from the card in camera or out of camera and do not re format the card and then sho
