Hi disk read error windows 7 When I try and start up my Windows XP I get this message "Disk read error occurred press Ctl+Alt =Del to restart. Every time I restart I get the same message. Does

anyone have any ideas about the steps I should take in an attempt to fix this problem. I have searched the forums but am a bit lost about some of the suggestions. If you are running 10.6.5 as indicated on your profile, you are in the wrong place. To boot that system, you will need the install DVD or USB stick (if no DVD drive). Whatever you removed damaged the system to the point that it will not boot. You must reinstall the OS from the Install DVD.
