I wanted to make a backup copy of my XP Pro CD. I clicked copy CD. I started getting this error "unrecoverable read error at 54.56.12,54.56.13, etc". I have a LG CD-RW and a new sony DVD-ROM. I put the http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r6112250-unrecoverable-read-error-with-Nero Xp Pro CD in the DVD ROM and the CD-R in the CD-RW drive. I saved the Nero log from the failed Copy session if that would help anyone. Please help I knew this was too easy to be true.If it makes any difference I did not install INCD, I had 3 choices when I installed Nero: Nero, Nero Media Player, INCD/Packet Writer. I only chose Nero and rebooted. Then I tried this copy.[text was edited by author 2003-02-25 21:08:23][text was edited by author 2003-02-25 21:09:03][text was edited by author 2003-02-25 21:13:02] · actions · 2003-Feb-25 9:03 pm · howie1253$Premium Memberjoin:2002-02-20Little Falls, NJ howie1253$ Premium Member 2003-Feb-25 9:23 pm At what point did you receive the error message? 1 of 1 unrecoverable read error with Pioneer and Nero? by SkaarjMaster on Thu Aug 04, 2011 10:45 pm Just burned two data DVDs on http://www.cdrlabs.com/forums/unrecoverable-read-error-with-pioneer-and-nero-t25542.html Verbatim DVD-Rs (DataLifePlus, the good stuff from Rima, 1792). Used the Pioneer DVR-216D and Nero with the first one at about 3.5GB turning out fine and the next one gave a "unrecoverable read error" on the last 3 DVD-Rs in the stack. I ran Nero InfoTool and the first good burn DVD-R shows up but I can't get the bad burn read error one to show up at all; it says no disc inserted whether in the Asus drive or Pioneer drive. I can't tell for sure if it's the hard drive, the DVD-R, or the Pioneer burner. It looks like it happened about a minute and a half into the whole process that would have taken around 3-5 minutes total. Can anyone tell nero read error from this log file partial? Thank you.EDIT: Nevermind, the last 3 DVD-Rs in the stack were bad. I just burned all the data on one DVD+R DL in the Pioneer with Nero and no problems!!! Of course, anyone that wants to agree with my conclusion, feel free to comment.4.8.2011ISO compilation10:08:06 PM #1 Text 0 File Isodoc.cpp, Line 6194 Iso document burn settings ------------------------------------------ Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : TRUE Multisession : FALSE Burning mode : DAO Mode : 1 ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet : TRUE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : TRUE Allow more than 255 characters in path : TRUE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE 10:08:06 PM #2 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 127 Reader running 10:08:06 PM #3 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 122 Writer PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-216D running 10:08:06 PM #4 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3293 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 10:08:06 PM #5 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3167 T
