Smart Current Worst Threshold
not an expert in the "HDD Field", I just turned my laptop on and saw this warning about hard disk, downloaded an raw read error rate fix HDD diagnostic (HD Tune Pro) and scanned my laptop. In the health tab, there were two errors: Raw read error rate: Current: 100, Worst: 62, Threshold: 60, Data: 0, Status: Failed Current pending sectors: Current: 100, Worst, read error rate 1 100, Data: 8, Status: warning I also scanned it with Active@ Hard Disk Monitor, it too shows the Raw Error Rate a varying number from 90-100%, and there's a changing high Raw Value too, but estimates "Health Status" as "OK". So what? Out of work? Hmm? What should I do? I'm getting a backup of my files right now, what after that? What if I don't replace the HDD? More about : raw

There's no data on the array (it's about to become the backup of read error rate another FreeNAS box), and I decided to run all 6 WD Green 2TB EADS drives through the WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics suite. I mean, why not check and see how they're doing? Especially now that I have a spare machine with internal SATA bays, so a full surface scan takes 6hrs rather than 25hrs like it did with the USB2 dock.Minor issue: at least 4 of the 6 drives give me a SMART result of Reallocated Sector Count: 200. Exactly 200, all 4 of them. Now, 3 totally failed the diagnostics for an unrelated reason, but for the 1 that didn't, the WD Diagnostic tool seems perfectly happy with that sector count; it reports that the drive passes all tests.Should I RMA the drive anyway, or is it, in all likelihood, just fine? I'd rather not have to RMA any more drives than necessary, since of the 7 original drives (all bought from NewEgg in a single batch, ~6 months ago) I'm now up to at least 4 RMAed (more if the final two drives scanning now report failures).Since this box is just a backup for another (which is itself running in RAID-Z,
