When K3B writes the image it checks the md5 summ and it passes. What is the fix for this do I have a bad download? I burned 2 different CD's one at 16 times and one as slow read error as my burner would let me which was 4 times. I got the same error with both disks. • Find copycon Neophyte Posts: 3 Threads: 1 Thanks Received: 0 in 0 posts Thanks Given: 0 Joined: Dec 2005 Reputation: 0 #2 Read Error: 0x20 Could not find Primary Volume Descriptor 12-05-2005, 10:31 PM tap tap tap pphhhttt pphhhttt is this thing on • Find sblevin Neophyte Sage Posts: 891 Threads: 98 Thanks Received: 0 in 0 posts read error 0x20 Thanks Given: 0 Joined: Jun 2005 Reputation: 0 #3 Read Error: 0x20 Could not find Primary Volume Descriptor 12-05-2005, 10:44 PM copycon Wrote:The subject line is the error I get when I attempt to boot the install cd. Have you tried the CD in another computer, friend, work, vmware, or made a bugger out of yourself at the local internet cafe? Just to check if the CD is really bootable? That might be a good start, and then you can try the "disabling acpi" and other BIOS tricks. • Find copycon Neophyte Posts: 3 Threads: 1 Thanks Received: 0 in 0 posts Thanks Given: 0 Joined: Dec 2005 Reputation: 0 #4 Read Error: 0x20 Could not find Primary Volume Descriptor 12-06-2005, 01:14 AM Tried it in three desktops and a laptop all with the same results. Did not try disabling the ACPI will give that a shot. • Find Thread Closed Possibly Related Threads...
