Access Runtime Error 429
Question 0 Sign in to vote I have a local database that when opened in Access using the "C:Program Files......." /runtime shortcut, opens up just fine in runtime mode. When moving this database to an offsite server with Access Runtime 2010 installed, I receive the following error: Execution of this application has stopped due to a run-time access runtime error 1004 error. The application can't continue and will be shut down. I figured if the database opens fine in runtime mode stored locally, it shouldn't have a problem opening up on a remote server with Access Runtime installed. Any ideas on what my potential fix could be? I don't know much about Access, but I'm learning. Thanks for you help. Some have Access 2010 installed while others are using the runtime. Users runtime error that have Access can run the application just fine. However, those who uses the runtime have an error while using one of the form. The error is in french but roughly translate : This application was stoped because of a runtime error. It cannot continue and will be closed. Obviously something's wrong, but since those with Access do not have this error, I can't debug the application and see what's wrong. Is there some sort of log that is kept that have more access runtime error information I could use for diagnosing. I get it that if those with the runtime would install Access it would solve the problem, but this is on a citrix server and those who don't have access do not have it because they were denied the access, for some reason, hence the runtime. Have you checked references? –Fionnuala Aug 3 '12 at 19:16 I can't really check the reference because it works 100% for this with Access and not for those who uses the runtime, so when I check them. I don't have the error. I do now think I have error trapping everywhere though, but the form doesn't call any code at beginning and more than one form does it, all excep the menu actually –David Brunelle Aug 3 '12 at 19:18 Have you tried simulating the runtime environment on your development machine? You can do it with a command line switch or by renaming an accdb. It might help you trap the error. –Fionnuala Aug 3 '12 at 19:20 I did not know that. I'll check it on the web. Thanks. –David Brunelle Aug 3 '12 at 19:22 I tried force running as runtime on my development machine and it worked fine... –David Brunelle Aug 3 '12 at 19:34

I wrote a database on my desktop, moved to my old laptop and it worked great. I then copied it to two new laptops and they both give a runtime error 48 when using a combo box on a form. The function is to update a field with a name from the combo box when the name is clicked. Both of the old unit work as suppose to, however both new units give the same error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled office 2003 and updated windows and office on the new units. I have compared the referrences in Visual Basic on all machine insuring they all call for the same libraries. carpy01 View Public Profile Find More Posts by carpy01 03-28-2012, 05:07 PM #2 RainLover VIP From a land downunder Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Qld Australia Posts: 5,050 Thanks: 28 Thanked 511 Times in 491 Posts Re: Runtime error in access database. If my memory serves me correctly you need to install Service Pack 3. Welcome to the Forum. __________________ Regards Rain. Windows 7. Access 2003. East Coast Australia. I was right, well sort of. Service Pack 3 is most likely the cause of the problem not the solution. Where Service Pack 3 has been installed you need to install the HOT FIX. I believe it is quite large. __________________ Regards Rain. Windows 7. Access 2003. East Coast Australia. GMT +10, Last edited by RainLover; 03-29-2012 at 01:26 AM. Thanks for the reply. The runtime problem is much deeper. I installed Office 2003 on a new 64 bit ASUS laptop. When I try to run my old database ( created on
