AOL Runtime error P: 1 2bitmarksman I'm not sure if this belongs here or not, but everytime my moms computer tries to access sites, there are random debugging messages saying that internet explorer script error there is a Runtime error in the Script that keeps pooping up, but everytime i hit debug, it utorrent says that it cannot debug the extension. Heres exactly what it says: RunTime Error Line: 44 Error: Object Expected Debug: Yes or No I hit yes heres the other window that pops up Just-In-Time debugging An Exception 'RunTime Error' has occured in Script However, no debuggers are registered that can debug this extension. Unable to JIT debug So i just click out of both windows. This would be a big deal http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_xp/just-in-time-debugging-error-occurs-when-i-open/aa669cb0-ce48-4ba5-8de2-fc79ad815490 but it happens 90% of the time you switch the page. This error only happens in AOL and not in anyother internet browser (why she doesn't just use internet explorer I'll never know) and the page still works even with that dumb window, its just annoying the crap out of me because she keeps bitchin to me about it because she is a Computer Tard. Please help me with this crap or at least tell me where to post this THANKS. It is annoying all the time, and sometimes, the site will not respond despite exiting the debigging windows. Accessing the sites through IE works, but is not an option as AOL is in integral part of my business. Oct 23 '06 #2 reply Expert Mod 5K+ P: 8,916 Banfa Isn't AOL based on IE? if it is there should be a option in the options to disable script debugging Oct 24 '06 #3 reply P: 1 Teguz There are two settings in AOL. From the Toolbar: Settings > Internet (Web) Options > Internet Explorer Settings > Advanced > Scroll down to Browsing > Check Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other). Hope that works. Oct 27 '06 #4 reply P: 1 iamatrashpicker I have just upgraded my computer to Windows Vista (from XP), and I now get the same error. I had AOL 9.0 before that and never had any problems. I even get an error about the Just in time debugging if I access the AOL website through internet explorer. And that is a killer b/c I have my mail account through them, and when the error pops up, the whole IE window closes. Just-in-time debugging is a Java thing, if I'm not mistaken, so It could be that it is a combination of the version of Java Virtual Machine that is on the computer and Windows Vista. has occurred. Do you wish to Debug?" or "Internet Explorer Script Error. An error has occurred in the script on line 1. Do you wish to continue running scripts on this page?" Here are some tips to stop them: There are https://www.technibble.com/how-to-stop-internet-explorer-script-error-messages/ a few reasons why you are getting this Internet Explorer script error. The first is that the author of the webpage has simply made some sort of programming error and this is typically the most common reason. The next reason is that you are possibly running a pop-up killer of some kind which closes the pop-up too quickly which causes the script of the website to fail and thus giving you the error because runtime error it didnt complete. The third reason is that you have some sort of spyware or adware infection that tries to launch something such as a popup but causes script errors. How to stop the Internet explorer script error message from showing up: You can tell your Internet Explorer to ignore these errors when they occur and not show you an alert about them. Here is the procedure: Open Internet Explorer In the top menu, aol debug error Click on Tools and then Internet Options Click on the Advanced Tab Find where it says "Disable Script Debugging" and tick the box beside it Now, Find where it says "Display a notification about every script error" and untick the box beside it. What to do when you get an Internet Explorer script error in Control Panel when opening User Accounts: You get a script error in Control Panel when clicking on User Accounts and see: Internet Explorer Script Error An error has occurred in the script in this page. Line: 4 Char: 1 Error: Access is denied Code: 0 URL: res://C:\Windows\system32\nusrmgr.cpl/nusrmgr.hta Do you wish to continue running scripts on this page? And the option of pressing Yes or No, no matter which one you press the User Accounts dialog opens anyway. There isnt really a fix for this error, it seems to be an undocumented error in Windows XP SP2 but there is a way to avoid it. Simply dont press User Accounts many times. If you press it 3 times or more it will occur. What to do if you are still getting errors If you are still getting errors even after disabling them in IE, then it is possible that you have some adware installed and you will need some adware removal software such as Ad-Aware Personal.
