exist within the programming. Exceptions are events that the software encounters. Software is programmed to respond to triggers and events, but if an event doesn’t have associated instructions for dealing with it, it becomes an exception. From there, the software performs an exception handling routine where it searches for additional programming instructions. If the programmer has included instructions telling AOL how to deal with aol runtime error has occurred the exception, AOL will follow those instructions. If not, AOL does not know what to do other than display a runtime error message. Bugs in AOL software can also trigger runtime errors. Software developers test their software extensively before releasing it. However, test environments can’t possibly account for all variables. Once new versions of AOL are released, it’s not unusual for new bugs to be discovered in the software as millions of users begin using AOL on computers of all types and configurations. You may be using AOL only to discover that a runtime error is generated every time you use a certain device such as a webcam or scanner. Low memory and computer viruses are also underlying causes of runtime errors in AOL and other programs. Solving a Runtime Error in AOL If you are experiencing a runtime error in AOL, take a few minutes to consider the possible causes of the error. Does the error consistently happen when performing a specific function within the AOL software? Does the error message give you any other clues such as “a file is missing or corrupt”? AOL Runtime error P: 1 2bitmarksman I'm not sure if this belongs here or not, but everytime my moms computer tries to access sites, there are random debugging messages saying that there is a Runtime error in the Script that keeps pooping up, but everytime i hit debug, it says that it cannot debug the extension. Heres exactly what it says: RunTime Error Line: 44 Error: Object Expected Debug: Yes or No I hit yes heres the other window that pops up Just-In-Time debugging An Exception 'RunTime Error' has occured in Script However, no debuggers are registered that can debug this extension. Unable to JIT debug So i just click out of both windows. This would be a big deal but it happens 90% of the time you switch the page. This error only happens in AOL and not in anyother internet browser (why she doesn't just use internet explorer I'll never know) and the page still works even with that dumb window, its just annoying the crap out of me because she keeps bitchin to me about it because she is a Computer Tard. Please help me with this crap or at least tell me where to post this THANKS. Sep 27 '06 #1 Post Reply Share this Question 8 Replies P: 1 sjgesq I am having the same problem. It is annoying all the time, and sometimes, the site will not respond despite exiting the debigging windows. Accessing the sites through IE works, but is not an option as AOL is in integral part of my business. Oct 23 '06 #2 reply Expert Mod 5K+ P: 8,916 Banfa Isn't AOL based on IE? if it is there should be a option in the options to disable script debugging Oct 24 '06 #3 reply P: 1 Teguz There are two settings in AOL. From the Toolbar: Settings > Internet (Web) Options > Internet Explorer Settings > Advanced > Scroll down to Browsing > Check Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other). Hope that works. Oct 27 '06 #4 reply P: 1 iamatrashpicker I have just upgraded my computer to Windows Vista (from XP), and I now get the same error. I had AOL 9.0 before that and never had any problems. I even get an error about the Just in time debugging if I access the AOL website through internet explorer. And that is a killer b/c I have my mail account through them, and when the error pops up, the whole IE window closes. Just-in-time debugging is a Java thing, if I'm not mistaken, so It could be that it is a combination of the version of Java Virtual Machine that is on the computer and Windows Vista.
