the Zotero macro now crashes every time I attempt to create a new citation. The error message is: BASIC runtime error. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2492/openoffice-basic-runtime-error An exception occurred Type: com.sun.star.lang.IllegalArgumentException Message: . And I'm dumped into https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=827367 the debugger. The highlighted line is: fnRangeComp = thisComponent.Text.compareRegionStarts (oR1, oR2) > 0 The call stack is: 0: fnRangeComp 1: subShellSort(mMarks=...) 2: fnGetMarks(ZoteroUseBookmarks=False) 3: fnUpdate(False=False, False=False) 4: ZoteroInsertCitation Any help in correcting this problem would be greatly appreciated. I'd be happy to upload my runtime error library and document somewhere if that would help. Jon Rubin March 18, 2008 Hi there, I had this problem a while back but don't think there was any definite fix. One thing would be worth checking, is that you haven't deleted any of the references from your document from Zotero. It's possibly a dodgy reference in openoffice java runtime there. Regards, Jon. adamsmith March 19, 2008 I can confirm the error, have been getting it occasionally, but am unable to replicate it. vinco March 19, 2008 I think the error's somehow linked to the record changes feature. After disabling this feature and accepting all prior changes, the macro worked perfectly again. dieterarn April 30, 2008 I can confirm this solution to the problem. (bug squashers please hear my cry) Thanks Vinco, I was pulling my hair out over this problem - I should have goggled it earlier. D_Harry June 14, 2008 I can confirm that this deff works, i was going nuts too with the same issue. Thanks for the answer. Sign In or Register to comment. DistroUbuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus BASIC Runtime Error Object Variable Not set OpenOffice Writer OS = Hardy Heron v. 8.04 OpenOffice ver. 2.4.0 After using the Wizard to create a FAX template, every time I call the template, I get an error message. BASIC Runtime Error Object Variable Not set and have to dismiss the error message. Then the fax template can be used. This error also opens the OOo Macro Editor and there is some highlighted text, which I suppose is part of the runtime error message. I had asked about this at the OpenOffice Writer forum and the response was to uninstall Ubuntu's OpenOffice suite and reinstall from the OpenOffice website. See: http://user.services.openoffice.org/...p=31597#p31597 My question is: is the response I got reasonable? I trust Debian/Ubuntu and can't think of why uninstalling/re-installing would help.
