It seams like the script tries to append a ".blend" to the ".exe" filename which cannot be found. Linux and OSX versions of the script seam to be unaffected. I could only test the Windwos 32Bit version of blender. How to reproduce: - Create a new "default cube" scene - Enable the AddOn "Save Game as Engine Runtime" in the User Preferences - Click on "File"->"Export"-> "Save Game as Engine Runtime" - The error shows Tested on: Windows XP Pro 32Bit Tested with both .blend + export folder under - My Documents - D:\ (r

I installed blender 2.54 on both my laptop (vista), and Desktop (xp) last night. After installation it works fine on laptop but on desktop right when it wants to start it gives an error message runtime error. My desktop is not connected to internet. I downloaded blender 2.54 https://developer.blender.org/T37157 and python 3.2 and copied and pasted the files on my desktop. Tried several times uninstall and install it gave the same error message. Then I tried and installed Blender 2.49 on my desktop it had no problem. The Error is: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\blender.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more https://www.blender.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18247 information. Any thought? Mind is a terrible thing to waste, next to that is Time. In other words the problem was with my desktop not the 2.54 beta. Mind is a terrible thing to waste, next to that is Time. It seems that Blender doesn't support asian languages such as Chinese or Japanese. So, your install path of Blender should not contain any Chinese character or Japanese Kana/Kanji. Just, install Blender to C: or D: may not cause problem like this. I think it's in the code based on the errors but if someone can actually read this and understand it, maybe you could help me. I can provide a link to the file via dropbox but I'm pretty sure technically I'm not supposed to do that because all the content in the game is copyrighted and is only supposed to go back onto the site. If someone can help me or point me in the right direction it would be so appreciated and you would be seriously saving my butt.. Note to self: never promise a windows version again because I don't know what I'm doing:( Below are the errors I get, the movies not being packed is normal because I have to put them in the library resources afterwards, the png not being packed is okay because I ended up reloading a different one, it's all the other stuff and the location -1 that is probably the problem..
