So basically the issue is with a corrupted Steam Cloud save. When you Steam Cloud Save corrupts it prevents you even going to the Steam Cloud screen so you cant load games or save games in the cloud. It effects you even with offline mode. You have to delete or overwrite the games saved in the cloud to fix the issue. Follow these steps step by step and the issue should be fixedhttp://forums.2kgames.com/showthread.php?98235-C-Runtime-error-on-load-save-game&p=1610508#post1610508Woohoo - That solved it Ok - for all those that don't know.I had a corrupt steam cloud save. Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error Fix
2011 Reputation: 0 Posts: 5 Solved: Civ 5 C++ Runtime Error when loading modded save Hey, folks, I recently ran into the dreaded C++ runtime runtime error 216 fix crash when I tried to load my save on a modded game. After Googling and trying many different things including uninstalling and reinstalling both Civ V and Steam (ouch), I finally lucked out and discovered a simple fix for this problem. (Bear in http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/938528-sid-meiers-civilization-v/66696701 mind that this solution only applies to modded games.) Normally, when you fire up Civ V and load a single player game, you do it by selecting [Single Player] > [Load Game] on the start screen, right? Apparently, Civ V fails to correctly load the mods when you do it this way. Instead, you need to do this: On the start screen, select [Mods] > [Accept] to take you to your mods screen. Tick all the mods relevant to the save you want to play, http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3266253 then select [Next] to make the game start configuring game data. When this is done, on the next screen choose [Single Player] > [Load Game] and load your game. Simple! In one breath, that's: [Mods] > [Accept] > [Next] > [Single Player] > [Load Game] You only need to do this when you start each Civ session. If you do a reload during a session, you can just do it normally. Hope this helps someone! eastpaw View Public Profile Search User Find More Posts by eastpaw Find Threads by eastpaw Steam Users' Forums > Steam Game Discussions > Q - S > Sid Meier's Civilization series Solved: Civ 5 C++ Runtime Error when loading modded save « Previous Thread | Next Thread » Thread Tools Show Printable Version Display Modes Linear Mode Switch to Hybrid Mode Switch to Threaded Mode Posting Rules You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts BB code is On Smilies are On [IMG] code is Off HTML code is Off Forum Rules All times are GMT -7. Whenever I want to load a saved game, I get the following error:"Runtime Error! ...... DX11.exeThis application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.""Unusual way"? Are you kidding me? Clearly, this is an error that needs to be corrected in a new patch immediately. I already tried verifying the game cache and all that. Nothing. I even uninstalled Civ5 and Steam, then reinstalled both....STILL nothing. As of right now, you've lost a Steam player and customer. I will not be playing or purchasing any Steam-based PC games again until this issue is resolved. Console-based games (i.e. PS3) will be taking up my gaming efforts from this day forth, and I highly suggest all Civilization 5 fans do the same. Thank you. < > Showing 1-11 of 11 comments dasaard200 View Profile View Posts Oct 30, 2014 @ 9:40pm Dinna fash yer undies in a knot, lad; have patience, 'twill get fixed, soon . Check in every fe

Civilization 5 Crashes To fix this make sure your installation of DirectX and Visual C++ runtime libraries are up to date. 1. Go to C:\Program files\Steam\Steamapps\Common\sid meier's civilization v\ 2. Run \Steamapps\Common\sid meier's civilization v\VCRedist\vcredist_x86.exe to update VC++ libraries 3. Run \Steamapps\Common\sid meier's civilization v\DirectX\DXSetup.exe to update DirectX Civilization 5 can work with all direct versions from DirectX 9 to DirectX11, however your graphics card needs to support the DirectX. Your windows will also need to be able to run the DirectX version. Windows XP supports 9 Windows Vista supports 9 and 10 Windows 7 supports all. If your Windows is compatible the problem is with your graphics card. Just switch to an older DirectX if this is the case. And if the problem was happened when you try civilization V Full Screen, you must play it in window mode.. here's how to fix civilization 5 crash 1. Edit GraphicsSettingsDX9 (or 10 or 11, depending on what you set up your game to use!) using your text editor (usually wordpad or notepad) 2. Find fullscreen, change it to 0 3.
