Runtime Error 103 Pascal
June 01, 2014, 04:24:59 pm » Sometimes I get only a message like:Code: [Select]Runtime error 216 at $00404E9A
$00404E9A
$00408221
I'm looking for a list of all the runtime-error-messages. I didn't find anything in the documentation. SysErrorMessage() has nothing with 216. Has anybody a link for me to all the runtime-error-messages? Thanks in advance. « Last Edit: June 01, 2014, 04:55:08 pm by Hartmut » types of errors in pascal programming Logged Rails Guest Re: What means Runtime error 216? « Reply #1 on: June 01, 2014, 04:34:29 pm » From the FPC User's Guide,216 General Protection faultThe application tried to access invalid memory space. This can be caused by several problems: Dereferencing a nil pointer. Trying to access memory which is out of bounds (for example, calling move with an invalid length). There should be a copy on your machine. If not, a quick Google will find you a download location. Thanks in advance. The bit of the FPC Users Guide you need is online here:http://www.freepascal.org/docs-html/user/userap4.html#x189-196000DIt's also distributed with Lazarus 1.2.2. There's a chm in lazarus\docs\chm called user.chm. That's the one you want. The operating system halts your application and tells you that a general protection (GP) fault occurred, but your system does not crash. The following practices cause GP faults: * Loading constant values into segment registers * Performing arithmetic operations on segment registers of selectors * Using segment registers for temporary storage * Writing to code segments * Accessing memory beyond the local address space given to your application * Derefencing nil pointers I think you have to look through your code one more time, or maybe try to ru
