Discussion in 'General Gaming' started by Marsmallos, Oct 14, 2008. Marsmallos Guest What the title says The crash occurs on every saving, auto save or loading new level or saving manually, but the file gets saved so I can continue if I start the game again, the game http://www.valvetime.net/threads/half-life-2-error-microsoft-visual-c-runtime-library-everytime-i-save.147900/ just crashes afterwards, always with this error: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program\Steam\SteamApps\User\Half-Life-2\hl2.exe abnormal program termination I have tried editing every option, playing in windowed/fullscreen etc. I have good framerates and so on, but everytime the game tries to Autosave it crashes and that iis annoying since it autosaves often. I wanna play this game, so could someone tell me how to fix this problem? #1 Marsmallos, Oct 14, 2008 Marsmallos Guest Great forums I will recommend it to everyone having problems with their game, your tech support almost rivals Blizzard Entertainments! I have no viruses or spyware, did a full scan last sunday. #4 Marsmallos, Oct 15, 2008 Cormeh Tank Joined: Dec 6, 2004 Messages: 4,867 Likes Received: 0 Have you tried doing a defragment/clean up of the game files through Steam? Program: C:\Program Files\Half Life2\root\hl2.exe This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. runtime error Can anyone help me plz,I dont know what to do Moved by Carey FrischModerator Monday, September 26, 2011 3:12 PM Moved to more appropriate forum category (From:Windows Vista Application Compatibility Toolkit) Sunday, July 03, 2011 11:15 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote counter strike source Hi, Mostly, this kinds of error can be caused by two factors: 1.Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are missing. 2.Software problem. If the issue is caused by #1, you can reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries to resolve the problem. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9B2DA534-3E03-4391-8A4D-074B9F2BC1BF&displaylang=en If the issue still persists after installing above package, the issue should be a software problem. I suggest you take a clean boot check whether it is a software conflict issue. If not, it is still recommended to address the problem with manufacturer support. Thank you for your understanding. When she loads Half life 2 Episode 1 every thing is butter, but when she loads up the original HL2, or any mods based off half life 2 she gets a C++ runtime error. She's running Windows XP, and has a X2600PRO. I know the copy is legitimate because I sent it to her steam account myself. I've re-installed it for her, and it still comes up. Even tried re-installing Steam. Her copy of Windows Passed the WGA test so that should be fine. I'd prefer not re-installing windows for her though. I've done a couple things with no luck via some advice on youtube, and a couple forums I found from a google search (adding a service, running in forced DX9 etc. ) and that didn't help in the least. Some places said this was because of an illegitimate copy o
