Hi Tony, Go to the Control Panel/Internet http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/60316-45-internet-explorer-runtime-error Options, and on the Programs tab click the button to "manage add-ons". Click on each non-microsoft listing and then disable it on the lower left. Do them all, then reboot and retry opening Internet Explorer. If it works, then you can selectively reenable the plug-ins a few at a time to figure out which one was causing the problem. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "TonyFFC"

Yours sincerly Thijs Francissen The runtime error windows netherlands thieske_112@hotmail.com Aug 11, 2005 #1 A_DOG73 TS Rookie Posts: 170 hi I've had that problem before after I downloaded something I shouldn't have. To fix this problem I had to do a reinstall of XP. I don't know if your problem is as serious but I couldn't get IE to work and it was my only option. I didn't actually reinstall XP. My HP computer comes with a nice feature called "Non Destructive System Recovery". It pretty much restores everything to factory defaults. If you don't have that you could reinstall XP if that's what you're running. Did you download something recently that could have caused this?? Do you remember when it happened? You could do a system restore to a time before that happened. Aug 11, 2005 #2 thijs TS Rookie Topic Starter thank you for your comment Thijs. Aug 11, 2005 #3 pondreef TS Rookie I am getting exactly the same error message! I am trying desperately to figure out what to do. If you find a solution would you please email me? Thank you,
