reel reader on the third reel. What is described below is for testing the reel reader card using this home built tester. The tester provides both a 50 volt source or a 5 volt source (switch selectable). After describing this procedure I will tell you how to test the cards with out having to have a 50 volt source. I designed and built a tester to make troubleshooting japanese slot machine error codes easier. I test the card and all of the photo-transistors first, then I split the two halves of the card, one for cleaning but also so that I can use a dental tool, poking it into the tiny opening to push the photo-transistor or IR Emitter back up and out of the small square opening. The photo-transistor/Emitter should be at something close to a 45 degree angle. Once the bad components are pushed out of the way, I use my soldering iron to melt the solder on both leads at the same time while grasping the upper portion of the optic. It comes off very easily. Once removed use solder wick to remove the excess solder. You want to do this so that when you put in the new device the leads will be nearly flat on the PC board. Replace the defective components and quickly tack one side, allow the solder to cool and then solder the other side. Once the other side has cooled you can go back and firmly solder the lead that was previously tacked. Reassemble and then retest to make sure that the optics are working properly. just acquired a Bally E-2091-200 quarter slot machine. I would like to get it going, but not sure what's wrong. When I turn it on, all the lights come on and instantly has a code on the display (_6 . . . 0.6.) the first digit http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?action=printpage;topic=15702.0 is blank, and the reels don't spin. Nothing happens when I push the test button and nothing seems to happen when I push the reset button, except sometimes it sounds like when I power it up(solenoids clicking and a bell). I have checked the battery on the board and it reads 4.0volts and I'm not sure what to do next. If anyone Could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Title: Re: Bally E-2000 error help Post by: proten on November 22, 2011, 06:22:46 PM Here slot machine is the Bally error codes.Code 6 on start up looks like a memory code.Barry (Foxsslots) is the resident expert, he can tell you for sure and will probably have the parts you need. Title: Re: Bally E-2000 error help Post by: CastleTek on November 22, 2011, 06:35:30 PM Thanks for the reply, I've done a little reading and thought that it was supposed to have some boot sequence on the display, just that code instantly. I was reading your error code sheet and it says bally e series for the memory code, the last digit is 6 with no other numbers displayed for one second, followed by the memory chip number at the front of display. Any ideas? Thanks Title: Re: Bally E-2000 error help Post by: proten on November 22, 2011, 06:39:50 PM I'm not sure as I have not had to work with this problem.Barry will be the one to know for sure.
