It happend after a few days. After changing the timeout value from 5 tot 30 seconds, this all went away. This will improve the stability and might also help to prevent SNMP #2003 errors. Basically, the #2003 sensor indicates that the requests ran into a timeout, this might happen due to an overload of the target device which might lead to a lower prioritization for SNMP packets. Raising the timeout value, or even the scanning interval might help in these cases. You can try to figure out the problem with the paessler snmp tester. It is a Windows-Software what can be installed on the same host, and on other systems. With this software you be able to check the snmp requests. I refer to this article: http://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/9763-prtg-snmp-error-2003 If this won't help you, try this one, debugging and fixing snmp problems with and via PRTG: http://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/46863-my-snmp-sensors-dont-work-what-can-i-do Best Sascha Add comment Created on Dec 2, 2014 1:58:45 PM by Sascha Lewandowski (2,291) ●3 ●4 Permalink Please log in or register to enter your reply. It fails every time with error 2003: no response. I can successfully add a SNMP Uptime Sensor to this port and the PRTG SNMP Tester says everything is okay. I still have PRTG Traffic snmp error Grapher 6.2.2.984 installed on this same machine and the SNMP Traffic Sensor works fine on it. Do you have any suggestions? Please see this article and check everything that is listed there. Also, run the SNMP Tester against the device(s) you want to monitor (linked and described in the article) to debug your SNMP issues.
