When you try to write more text in the field or modify existing data, receive an error message similar to the following Exception 3709 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302525 share|improve this answer answered Dec 20 '12 at 18:40 Elenasys 56.8k11163143 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Just for completeness, I get error 3709 (the search key was not found in any record) when trying to import an Excel spreadsheet that has a leading or trailing space in a column header. Remove that and it goes away. This is in Access 2013. share|improve this answer answered Aug 19 '15 at 16:33 bburns.km 1,52321526 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or

Solved: Connection Error (3709) in Opening Recordset Discussion in 'Business Applications' started by axkoam, Jul 5, 2012. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement axkoam Thread Starter Joined: Jun 4, 2012 Messages: 22 Windows 7, MS Access 2007 I'm getting "Run-time error '3709': The connection cannot be used to perform this operation. It is either closed or invalid in this context. My scenario is that I'm using a script similar to the one below on a form, and then this slightly altered version below for another form if the logic permits it. The original script on the 1st form works, but when it runs from this form I get the error noted above. I've been reading a lot about this error but I haven't been able to solve it yet. Any ideas? This code is supposed to take any records that have the Boolean EmailSent not checked and send emails to those. Emails are created/sent through the exporthtml routine near the end of this routine.
