Runtime Error 5 Invalid Procedure Call Or Argument Windows 7
Unanswered Threads Unresolved Threads Advanced Search Reply dlevine 23 Posts ASP Error Code 0147 & ASP_CLIENT_DISCONNECTED in IIS7 Trace Log Mar 05, 2009 05:21 PM|dlevine|LINK We had migrated a calssic ASP application from IIS runtime error 5 invalid procedure call or argument fix 5.0 to IIS 7.0 a little while back. As time goes on, I am seeing greater system utilization as a whole on the IIS 7 box than we ever really did on the IIS 5 box. I also have ASP error being logged to the Windows Event log, and have been noticing a fair number or errors on a regular basis - on top of which, every now run time error 5 vba and again we will start to get strange random errors from ASP pages... like DB connections failing for no apparent reason, etc. So, I am starting to take a close look at all of this to try and determine root causes. I have enabled Failed Request Trace Logging, and have been reviewing these logs all day today. One thing I am seeing quite a bit of is : ASP_CLIENT_DICONNECTED ASP_LOG_ERROR LineNumber="", ErrorCode="ASP 0147", Description="500 Server Error" This seems to happen for random ASP pages with random querystrings... I am not able to see any patterns to it... Anyway, I have not found too much information on this error and how to properly interperet it. TechNet says: "The client disconnected while the request was on the ASP queue." which is great, but not all that verbose. What could cause clients to disconnect so frequently in this manner? Networking in general seems to be fine on the server - NIC / drivers / cables / switch, etc. all seem good. If anyone has any advice or experiences I would greatly appreciate it... a minute: Sign up Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.) when bulk insert up vote 1 down vote favorite I have an ASP.NET application on Server A and a SQL Server on Server B. When running the appliction it calls http://forums.iis.net/t/1155791.aspx?ASP+Error+Code+0147+ASP_CLIENT_DISCONNECTED+in+IIS7+Trace+Log a stored procedure. This procedure try to bulk insert from a file from a shared folder on Server A, but the following error occured: Cannot bulk load because the file "\serverA_address\sharedFolder\test.txt" could not be opened. Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.). The strange is that when I execute the bulk insert from the sql management studio directly, it runs without any exeptions. Another observation: if I change the shared folder address to a local folder where the sql server runs (Server http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14648557/operating-system-error-code-5access-is-denied-when-bulk-insert B) without shareing, no access denied error... I tried to set bulkadmin permission to all the users, including the technical users: sql_serviceusr who runs the sql service, another technical user who runs the application and make the call to sql server and to the user who logged in to the application. All users are domain accounts and all servers using Kerberos authentication. I'd guess you log into SQL in Studio using your personal creds, but the app has a more limited account (as it should). –user565869 Jan 29 '14 at 17:04 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote You are doing a double hop, so you need to enable Kerberos delegation. share|improve this answer answered Feb 1 '13 at 16:26 Remus Rusanu 206k25267405 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote You could create a connect account and use SQL authentication. In my experience, getting our network folks to properly set up Kerberos is like pulling teeth. We had it working for one glorious week once and then it suddenly stopped working. It just wasn't worth the hassle after that. This might

2011 by Don Draper 23 Comments Tweet You are running an ASP or ASP.NET web application on IIS on Windows 2008 R2 from a remote web browser and you constantly see following error message. While this is the proper results for a production server (you never want to show remote users the details of an error), it is not helpful while testing a new installation…as a developer you need to see the error messages on the remote browser. There is an obscure setting that controls this for both ASP and ASP.NET. I hope the following will help anyone needing to see error details on a remote connected browser. For Classic ASP Errors In IIS Manager, select your ASP site, the double-click the ASP icon in the IIS section. The configuration settings for this ASP applications will appear. Open the section for Debugging and make sure the option Send Errors to Browser is set to True. Review other settings while you are here to ensure they match want you want. For Classic ASP and ASP.NET Errors Just making the change above seems to work find under IIS on Windows 7 but not Windows 2008 R2. You may need to change one other setting. In IIS Manager, select the ASP or ASP.NET site, the double-click the Error Pages icon in the IIS section (do not confuse with the .NET Error Pages in the ASP.NET section) . The list of error codes and related IIS Error Pages will appear. Select the one for 500 errors and right-mouse, then choose Edit Feature Settings from the popup menu. The default settings is the third option which only allows detailed errors to be sent to a browser on the same server. Change this setting to the second option labeled Detail errors and then details of your code or script errors will be sent to the browser even if it is a remote quest. If you are using Internet Explorer, also make sure that Show Friendly Errors is not enabled. This is not a problem for Firefox users. Be sure and change this setting back to the default if and when the server is used in a production environment. When that is the case, use the NT Event log for ASP errors (also set in the ASP settings section) and .NET Error Tracing as better ways to vie
