Posted by Flooby on 20 Feb 2004 18:44 See if the following link helps: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000380.htm I'd suggest ruling out the virus and memory issues first, via a scan with current definitions, and by running the Dell Diagnostics tests on the memory. Details are in your system documentation. Like 0 Reply You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. Posted by ohdear on 20 Feb 2004 18:52 Thanks Flooby. I have already checked those. I am virus-free and the Dell diagnostics passed the memory tests. Going to check out your link.Thanks. Posted by ohdear on 20 Feb 2004 19:21 Still no luck.Maybe I've come to the wrong place. Any ideas anyone?I rang tech help last night and the call was transferred to India. What with the language problem and the delay on the line it was hopeless. The lady said she would ring me today to try and help again but she let me down.Is there a forum where Dell Techies give the sort of help I need? Thanks if anyone replies. I am trying to run it under the "cmd.exe" "DOS box" route, but have tried the plain "Windows XP" route also. This program ran happily in Windows 98 on this same PC (no change in hardware). There is 512 MB RAM. The problem program is the "changing defaults" program associated with the old Wordstar 6. Wordstar still runs OK and does not need the `cmd.exe' to get it going. Is there something I can do to get this program running? I have tried stopping other processes which are running in the background (firewall, anti-virus, etc.). Thanks for your help in the past. howardh howardh, #1 2007/06/13 surferdude2 Inactive Joined: 2004/07/04 Messages: 4,009 Likes Received: 23 Trophy Points: 608 Location: 62864 Computer Experience: Default Have you tried running it in Win98 compatibility mode? Sometimes that works for older software - not always. Instructions for using XP Compatibility Mode Last edited: 2007/06/13 * * * * * * * * Please validate any help received

C Run-Time Error R6009 Visual Studio 6.0 not enough space for environment There was enough memory to load the program but not enough memory to create the envp array. One of the following may be a solution: Increase the amount of memory available to the program. Reduce the number and size of command-line arguments. Reduce the environment size by removing unnecessary variables. If your program uses the compact, large, or huge memory model, this error may be avoided by using LINK's /CPARM:1 command-line option. This option causes unused near heap space to be allocated to the far heap. Show: Inherited Protected Print Export (0) Print Export (0) Share IN THIS ARTICLE Is this page helpful?
