This works fine and the company is using it. However, I am now working on a version 2 to which I have added a few more cells and another worksheet just to make it a little easier to use. Now when I open the file I get the following error: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-questions/661060-run-time-error-57121-application-defined-object-defined-error.html Run-time error 57121 "Application-defined or object-defined error". As nothing has really changed and the old one still works (I copied the code) I'm stumped as to what the issue is. Private Sub Workbook_Open() ActiveSheet.Unprotect If Worksheets("M+M Sheet").Cells(2, 11).Value = "" Then Worksheets("M+M Sheet").Cells(2, 11).Value = Date End If If Worksheets("M+M Sheet").Cells(12, 5).Value = "" Then Worksheets("M+M Sheet").Cells(12, 5).Value = UCase(Environ("USERNAME")) End If ActiveSheet.Protect DrawingObjects:=True, Contents:=True, Scenarios:=True End Sub Any advice would be appreciated. If you can not debug the code easily, place all code in en new sub and call that sub from Workbook_Open. This allows you to run the code manually and debug it. And after some VBA and file structure changes, this error is sporadically occurring run time error after they click enable macros. After this error appears, I see that a control button I've inserted is deleted, none of the VBA code will run (although the code exists in the editor), and all data validation drop down lists are wiped out! I cannot duplicate this error on my PC, but it is happening, seemingly sporadically, across computers. It's happened 4 times today and I need to constantly restore the file. I need help, and fast! I switched it to a Form Button, and I now longer get this particular error. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it.
