It is definitely not a problem with the code but more to do with the environment. Maybe, I installed something which messed the crystl32.ocx. The 'depends' proggy does not highlight any issues and the running the report from CR works fine. Any ideas? Many thanks, 0 Question by:jaybeegee Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution bydevin_bates I had this same problem, and noticed that the error message I was getting https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21016475/Run-Time-Error-20728.html was just the letter "E"...not very helpful... I finally tracked it down to crpe32.dll. You may need to reinstall Crystal - the only reference I've seen to this error relates to incompatible control versions. frodoman 0 LVL 100 Overall: Level 100 Crystal Reports 94 Message Active today Expert Comment by:mlmcc2004-06-08 What O/S? If it is XP you may have an incompatibility problem. CR8 isn't supported or tested on XP. What edition? WIth CR8 you need the developer edition to use VB. Solved Crystal time error Error 20728 from VB6 app Posted on 2006-02-16 Crystal Reports 1 Verified Solution 11 Comments 3,086 Views Last Modified: 2007-12-19 Hi, we have a VB6 app that calls Crystal reports version 8.5 and works fine. Now we are trying to upgrade the reports to Crystal version 10.0; created an install package to deploy the time error 20728 app. The install and the application worked but when trying to view the Crystal reports got error 20525, which is related to having both the 8.5 and the 10.0 versions of the crpe32.dll on the PC. To resolve this we created a redirect file to force the app to use crpe32.dll version 10.0 that we copied to the same folder where the executable is. Now on some users' computers the Crystal reports work but some users started getting a different error, Error 20728. Please help!!
