the # is greater than 15 it deletes the earliest files (by datecreated) until the # is http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-24612.html <= 15. The code worked great for about a month, and not http://www.visualbasicscript.com/vbscript-runtime-error-path-not-found-m104475.aspx I get a runtime erro '53', "File Not Found". The problem is that the file is there, I checked! Any ideas, suggestions, etc. The error occurs on this line "Set f = fso.GetFile(FileName)" Sub Folder_Maintenance() Dim fso As Object, ObjFiles As Object, _ Folder As Object, f time error As Object, indFile, _ Dir As String Dim FileName As String, MinDC As Double Dir = "R:\Capital Projects\Status Reports\Project Resource Management Form\Log Files" Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set Folder = fso.getfolder(Dir) Set ObjFiles = Folder.Files While ObjFiles.Count > 15 For Each indFile In ObjFiles MinDC = indFile.datecreated FileName = indFile.Name Exit For Next For Each indFile In ObjFiles time error 91 If indFile.datecreated < MinDC Then MinDC = indFile.datecreated FileName = indFile.Name 'MsgBox (MinDC) 'MsgBox (FileName) Else End If Next Dim a Set f = fso.GetFile(FileName) f.Delete Wend End Sub  xld01-09-2009, 09:31 AMSub Folder_Maintenance() Dim fso As Object, ObjFiles As Object, _ Folder As Object, f As Object, indFile, _ Dir As String Dim FileName As String, MinDC As Double Dir = "R:\Capital Projects\Status Reports\Project Resource Management Form\Log Files" Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set Folder = fso.getfolder(Dir) Set ObjFiles = Folder.Files While ObjFiles.Count > 15 For Each indFile In ObjFiles MinDC = indFile.datecreated FileName = indFile.Path Exit For Next For Each indFile In ObjFiles If indFile.datecreated < MinDC Then MinDC = indFile.datecreated FileName = indFile.Path 'MsgBox (MinDC) 'MsgBox (FileName) Else End If Next Dim a Set f = fso.GetFile(FileName) f.Delete Wend End Sub Ischyros01-09-2009, 10:57 AMThanks so much....I didn't even think of .Path vs .Name. Works great! xld01-09-2009, 11:12 AMIt probably worked before because you were already in that directory. Powered by vBulletin Version 4.2.2 Copyright © 2016 vBulletin Solutions, Inc. All rights r

Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") objFSO.CopyFile "C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Desktop\myscripts\test.txt","C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Desktop\myscripts\test folder" so this really simple script keeps giving me this " Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Permission denied" error and i provided the link because i also had similar scripts that the tutorial provides as examples but none are working. so when i try using the copyfolder method the script fails but instead i get no error just the microsoft all rights reserved logo information. this script reads as follows Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") objFSO.CopyFolder "C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Desktop\myscripts\test folder2","C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Desktop\myscripts\test folder" yet i still dont have a copy of the folder, i also try this using getfile and getfolder and similar results Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set objFile = objFSO.GetFile("C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Desktop\myscripts\test.txt") objFile.Copy "C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Desktop\myscripts\test folder" returns with same vbscript runtime error: permission denied and the getfolder Set objFSO = CreateObject("C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Desktop\myscripts\test folder2") Set objFolder = objFSO.GetFolder("C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Desktop\myscripts\test folder2") objFolder.Copy "C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Desktop\myscripts\test folder" returns with "Microsoft VBScript runtime error: ActiveX component can't create object: (path)" so it seems like i dont have permission to these folders except when i manually drag the file/folder i am able to move it. I check the permissions on the folder and file and i have full permission, the .txt is not a read-only file and i am running the scripts through powershell. also im running powershell as an admin so not sure whats going on maybe i could at least get pointed in the right direction. also i am runni
