Now, in documents that compile without an actual tex error, there are missing graphics that I have included as eps-files. The following error, however, appears: MiKTeX GPL Ghostscript 9.05: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1. I am using pdflatex in conjunction with the auto-pst-pdf package to be able to use eps-graphics in pdflatex. I installed the following version: basic-miktex-2.9.5105-x64, all packages were updated today. However, I have also tried the x32 version, with the same result. Unfortunately, I am not really able to locate the problem and produce a MWE. It seems like deleting parts of the document makes the graphics appear, and, more importantly, adding more graphics makes the document not compile without an error anymore, even though I am sure that the exact same document compiled nicely when I used my initial configuration. I have read the related questions: auto-pst-pdf throws 'MiKTeX GPL Ghostscript 9.05: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1' Ghostscript 8.57: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1 However, they don't men

The job seems to go to the queue, then is removed silently. I tried Printing|Help|Troubleshoot and did not receive a specific advice but was able to set debug mode and receive an error log that I am attaching as troubleshoot.txt.gz (gzipped because otherwise it exceeds 19K limit). The only suspicious line seems to be: 'D [12/May/2012:19:36:03 -0400] [Job 31] GPL Ghostscript 9.05: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1', but maybe I just do not se

Status:ClosedStart date:2014-01-09Priority:NormalDue date:Assignee:-% Done:0%Category:-Target version:Candidate for next bugfix http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu/issues/487 release Description I'm not filing a bug because this error https://github.com/altmany/export_fig/issues/79 seems related to Debian Jessie Ghostscript version (9.05~dfsg-8+b1), but I think it worth take a look. This gs works with ex30, ex32, ex33, etc. but not with ex31. Also example_31.ps is processed fine by other Ghostscript versions both in Debian unrecoverable error (9.05~dfsg-6.3) and Ubuntu (9.10~dfsg-0ubuntu2). This is the error:

History #1 Updated by Eduardo almost 3 years ago I can solve this removing fonts-font-awesome package. The users must be warned that removing this package also removes texlive-fonts-extra at least. I'm not sure if it is a Ghostscript or export_fig bug. But you guys should be able to figure that out pretty fast. I'm running Ghostscript 9.15 (home brew install) and the newest export_fig (downloaded today) on a mac running OS 10.10.3 (Yosemite). I'm running Matlab R2014b. So, here is the problem: I can only export figures without a prefix (e.g. x10^-3). See photos: Matlab/Ghostscript throws the following error if the figure contains a prefix: Error: /typecheck in /findfont Operand stack: CMSY10 Execution stack: %interp_exit .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- false 1 %stopped_push 1951 1 3 %oparray_pop 1950 1 3 %oparray_pop --nostringval-- 1934 1 3 %oparray_pop 1820 1 3 %oparray_pop --nostringval-- %errorexec_pop .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval-- 1903 1 3 %oparray_pop Dictionary stack: --dict:1180/1684(ro)(G)-- --dict:0/20(G)-- --dict:121/200(L)-- Current allocation mode is local Last OS error: Invalid argument Current file position is 71000 GPL Ghostscript 9.15: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1 Ghostscript error: perhaps /private/tmp/tp6b10bd40_3cfd_4cfd_950a_3a9dcd9e8928.pdf is open by some other application export_fig error.
