Please login unrecoverable error or Register to Submit Answer Username Password Remember Me Answers :Posted on Thursday September 10, 2015The failure indicates that you are using binary translation on a CPU that doesn't support CPUID spoofing, and the guest CPUID features don't match the host CPUID features. I am a little surprised that this is happening, but it is vmware workstation unrecoverable an old processor, and it might not support CPUID masking. I would like to see the vmware.log file if you can find it. You should be able to work around this issue by changing the preferred execution mode to VT-x, assuming that VT-x is enabled on the host, and that the guest OS isn't one of the few that requires binary translation. I had VMware Player on my computer but recently upgraded to Workstation 6.5 because some of the features I want don't exist in compacted player version. But then, I got “VMware Workstation unrecoverable error: (vcpu-0)†(see below the screen shot) from time to time and once it happened, I can no longer boot any virtual machine and got “cannot find a valid peer process to connect to†message unless I rebooted my computer. Yesterday morning, I noticed that the first error message popped up right after I fired up Microsoft Virtual PC while I still had a VMware virtual machine running, which told me that it was actually Virtual PC that kept VMware down. I then looked up both settings and tried various combinations to get both alone with each other. And finally, the only way that makes Virtual PC and VMware to run simultaneously is to disable the “hardware virtualization†on Virtual PC and allow VMware to take the hardware resources. I goggled many times re this issue but came up almost nothing, so I hope this will help you if you are running into the same mystery. By the way, I am running both on Lenovo T60 laptop with 4G RAM installed, and on Vista. Both run perfectly.
