LAN to LAN VPN I'd use IPsec between two Draytek devices, as above PPTP for single client is easiest to setup. Newer Draytek models and firmwares support SSL VPN too. cornet 1,423 posts 68 months [report] [news]Monday 17th June 2013 If you use PPTP then make sure you enable MPPE (Microsoft Point-to-Point Encryption) as PPTP is not encrypted by default.Personally I would always opt for IPSEC. e320dave 482 posts 61 months [report] [news]Tuesday draytek smart vpn client windows 8 18th June 2013 There are configuration examples on the Draytek site. I have usually found them quite good. There are a number of different types of configuration, user to Draytek (using the Draytek VPN Client), Draytek at home/remote site to VPN Server in the office and VPN Server to Draytek (other probably available as well). Draytek have some config examples of each on their site.Look at this section of their site. First of all, all my configuration works perefctly fine if the client is an XP, the problem only happened when I moved to 7 - and I've http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1298293 tried with 3 different Win7 machines and 2 XP with the exact same result L2TP/IPsec VPN connects and logs in fine, route are setup correctly. The problem is that I (almost) cannot reach any machine on the remote network. Almost means that using split tunnelling it works 5% of times (95% connections can't route but when routing works, all remote machines are reachable) https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/d6e37cbc-721c-4019-9c78-4c12f08a8947/vpn-problem-with-win7-pptp-works-fine-ipsec-only-works-fine-l2tp-only-connects-but-no-remote?forum=w7itpronetworking and if I use the remote server as my default GW (no split tunnel), it works in 30% of cases (same way, if one connection works, all remote machines are reachable). Nevertheless, ping timing varies from 200 (most of the case) to a few peaks of 2000 ! If I use PPTP only (hitting the same server configured to accept this) everything is fine - 100% success w/ or w/o split tunneling, stable ping time If I set a security rules to enable IPsec-only tunnel to be created, it works 100% , stable ping time. The SA used between IPsec-only and L2TP/IPsec VPNs are the same : SHA1, AES, Diffie-Hellman 14 (I though there was something there at the beginning but no) If I use a XP SP2 client, the L2TP/IPsec is fine 100% of times, the SA is just different (MD5, 3DES, DH 1) but this is not the problem as said above. I've tried a lot of things and search a real lot, but can't find any explanation nor solution Help welcome Thanks [edit] : wireshark shows that no ping paquet goes to t

Smartvpnclient.exe is a type of EXE file associated with Smart VPN Client developed by DrayTek corp. for the Windows Operating System. The latest known version of Smartvpnclient.exe is 4.0.0.4, which was produced for Windows XP. This EXE file carries a popularity rating of 1 stars and a security rating of "UNKNOWN". What Are EXE Files? EXE ("executable") files, such as smartvpnclient.exe, are files that contain step-by-step instructions that a computer follows to carry out a function. When you "double-click" an EXE file, your computer automatically executes these instructions designed by a software developer (eg. DrayTek corp.) to run a program (eg. Smart VPN Client) on your PC.Every software application on your PC uses an executable file - your web browser, word processor, spreadsheet program, etc. - making it one of the most useful kinds of files in the Windows operating system. Without executable files like smartvpnclient.exe, you wouldn't be able to use any programs on your PC. Why Do I Have EXE Errors? Because of their usefulness and ubiquity, EXE files are commonly used as a method of delivery for virus / malware infection. Often, viruses will be disguised as a benign EXE file (such as smartvpnclient.exe) and distributed through SPAM email or malicious websites, which can then infect your computer when executed (eg. when you double-click the EXE file). In addition, viruses can infect, replace, or corrupt existing EXE files, which can then lead to error messages when Smart VPN Client or related programs are executed. Thus, any executable files that you download to your PC should be scanned for viruses before opening - even if you think it is from a re
