I have tried multiple compatibility modes as well as starting the game with the controller unplugged as that used to fix a similar issue in Windows 8.1. If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated. < > Showing 1-3 of 3 comments echristian900 View Profile View Posts Jul 31, 2015 @ 10:34am Hi, it seems to be it is the DirectX 12.for this get a DX11 web installer (it worked fine at me)http://downloads.tomsguide.com/DirectX,0301-2158.html #1 AceMatic View Profile View Posts Aug 2, 2015 @ 12:58am did anyone fix this issue? if so please tell me so i can finish the gamePlease help me Last edited by AceMatic; Aug 2, 2015 @ 1:03am #2 TheOrionEnigma View Profile View Posts Aug 29, 2015 @ 8:11am Greetings,I had the same error message as the original poster after upgrading to Windows 10. I am running 2 NVIDIA cards in SLI with 355.60 drivers. The SLI setup worked fine on Windows 8.1 for this game without any tweaking...But for Windows 10 I had to go into the NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Add the game -> Change the SLI rendering mode to Single GPU to get the game to launch without the 80070057 error. NVIDIA may patch this in a future driver update as well. I hope this helps! #3 < > Showing 1-3 of 3 comments Per page: 15 30 50 Ghostbusters: The Video Game > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: Jul 8, 2015 @ 11:46

I'm using the latest drivers for everything I can find on my system. I've very keen on doing that. I have all the Windows Updates for my system as well. The game installs and plays the intro movie just fine. BUT, when it reaches the gamer input screen, I get no screen at all, only a message: DirectX Error: 88760868 The device is lost......and cannot be restarted..... I'm using DirectX9.0b. I can play in OpenGL, after a LOT of adjusting settings. However, I have to be very selective about Resolution and such because the screen becomes some kind of virtual screen with all the inputs clear off the bottom of the monitor. It's really a mess to begin with. BUT, I had absolutely no problem with the game on my 8500. Any clues? I have uninstalled, run a registry cleaner, deleted folders, and reinstalled twice so far. EDIT: I have resolved this issue with BloodRayne. I had to set my Desktop to 16 bit and make sure to NOT select BumpMapping in the game settings. In most cases, though, all it takes is starting the game again. But, I've gotten now to the point in the game where there's the 'mid-game cutscene'. This is the movie that was released prior to the release of the game last year. This is the movie where Rayne enters the Nazi's chambers and cuts off his ear and then finishes the job while taking on some guards. At the end of the movie, I get the DirectX error and the game crashes. So far, nothing I've tried will let me get past this point. I've tried ESC'ing the movie; pressing the Space Bar to skip it; and anything else I can think of. But, nothing's working. Any ideas?
