But to keep this one short I will just give you the quick version. Divx plus converter need to be told which decoder to use. We accomplish this by adding a extra variable to the AVISource string that is called fourCC="FPS1" so that it will work perfectly fine. fraps @ 50 fps.. and my realplayer converter will convert this to a compressed Windows.wmv 1080p HD.. No problem @ all.... When I try to record using fraps @ 60 fps, My Realplayer says I need the codecs from "Xvid" https://encodingtalk.com/threads/converting-60fps-fraps-avi-file-to-a-windows-wmv-file.2111/ or "DivX" These programs want covert/compress the files either. "error 24- can't read file" I posted on there forums and was told; "that's because they are a Fraps avi" The avi file is not compatible. Realplayer on the other hand will convert and compress to a wmv file as long as I record the screen-capture @ 50 fps with fraps... "Confused about this whole thing" What has the fps got to do with anything? Any advice would be windows 10 helpful.... P.S. I also bought the DivX Plus and it wouldn't work on anything @ 60 fps recorded with fraps. I called the company and got a refund.... voyagerseven, Sep 13, 2012 #1 Thalmor Wizard Moderator Staff Member Site Contributor RealPlayer is a crappy media player, no idea why you'd use it in all honesty. Quick question first: is there a particular reason you are using the WMV file format for your encoding? There are some among us here, including myself, who would argue that there are probably better alternatives. Also, what is your reason for recording at 60fps? Do you intend to upload your videos to YouTube? If you do, then you will probably just want to record at 30fps, because YouTube scales all videos down to 30fps during the upload process anyway. Right, on to the solution. First of all, make sure you are running the latest version of Fraps, 3.5.9. I find that sometimes it helps to remove the previous version of Fraps and all of its file associations completely before installing the new version. Also, I highly recommend installing the K-Lite Codec Pack. There are several different versions of the pack available, so you can choose which one you think is right for you. Now, I am not at home in RealPlayer and I don't know the first thing about DivX and Xvid, but you could retry the encoding process after installing the software I mentioned and see if that makes any difference. If it does, great. If it does not, here is a good (and free) alternative you can try: Handbrake. Handbrake is a very light and very elegant piece of software that will allow
