How is this possible? [closed] up vote -1 down vote favorite I have setup rul 318 dell Dell Inspiron N4030 laptop. I first installed Windows 8 and then Ubuntu 12.04 OS (through wubi.exe. http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/install-ubuntu-with-windows) in my system. The problem is Wireless Network adaptor not getting detected in Windows 8. But no such problem was encountered in Ubuntu and I was able to connect to WiFi. On downloading and installing the Dell drivers for Windows 7(Win 8 was not available http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/product/inspiron-14-n4030) I got error dialog boxes showing "Error Setup.rul 355" "Error Setup.rul 342" "Driver Installation Failed Could not find the device for this driver" Reliance datacard (dongles) is not getting detected in both Windows and Ubuntu. Ubuntu says "Unable to detect modem". But the datacard is working on other laptops running Windows / Ubuntu. BSNL datacard is getting connected in Ubuntu on clicking "Set up Wireless connection" (which appears on inserting the datacard) under the wifi symbol of ubuntu. But I was not able to connect it in Windows 8. Under Network drivers in Win8 system has Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter Qualcomm Atheros AR81

on an Dell Latitudenotebook August 6, 2009 by bjornvanreet 13 Comments The error "Setup.rul "380"" Is caused by not having .NET 2.0 or higher installed. This is because the Software that controls the card is trying to be installed https://vanreet.com/2009/08/06/setup-rul-380-error-while-installing-intel-wireless-driver-on-an-dell-latitude-notebook/ with the driver also. But installing only the driver will work as well. In order to fix this issue without installing .NET 2.0 or higher please follow my directions below. Also remember what the folder http://superuser.com/questions/738486/notebook-crashes-and-restarts-when-installing-wireless-adapter name is for the Wireless driver you downloaded. It will be RXXXXX This is easily fixed another way. Right click "My Computer" then click on "Manage" Then click on "Device Manager" Then right click on your windows 10 wireless network card. You will then need to click on "Update Driver". A box will pop up. Click on "No, not this time". Now click "Next". Now click on "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)". Now click on "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." In the list select "Network Adapter" and click next. Now click on "Have Disk". Now click on "Browse". On the left side driver windows 10 click on "My Computer". Now go to "C:\Dell\Drivers\RXXXXX\" NOTE: You may see that it has a lot of folders. Select the folder that's best for your install of Windows. Then when you do this you will be left with one file to select. Select that file and click ok. The system will then only install that driver. You won't get the fancy Dell Wireless software installed with it, so you should use the Microsoft interface to configure your wireless networks. I have recently upgraded from windows 7 to 8 pro. When I try to connect to my School's wifi network it simply does not connect but it can find the wifi network. When I try to upgrade my drivers all the other drivers update and work perfectly but when it comes to the wireless adapter, my notebook crashes (I get a blue screen) during installation and then restarts. How can I solve this problem? Thank you in advance. drivers wifi-driver share|improve this question asked Apr 7 '14 at 0:37 Moeketsi 1 Which website are you using to update your drivers? I'm guessing you're using some kind of application since you said you're upgrading all your drivers at once and once it get to installing the wireless adapter it crashes. –10100111001 Apr 7 '14 at 0:58 I was using Driver Pack Solution –Moeketsi Apr 7 '14 at 8:42 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote I would recommend confirming you have all the appropriate drivers. The best way to get almost all the drivers automatically is by running Windows Update. After you have done that, verify you have the correct chipset drivers. If not, you can visit this link and directly download the driver for your computer. I have noticed that there are no current Windows 8 drivers for your laptop either. So you might have to download the ones for Windows 7 (x64 or x86 depending on your architecture). If Windows updates did not find the wireless adapter drivers for you automatically, you can visit this website and download the appropriate Intel, Broadcom or Atheros driver. To figure out wha
